Previous page is hilarious to read now, with the benefit of hindsight. Guess the Browns knew what they were doing on that one, eh?

Story of his career, unfortunately. 9ers, Browns & Jags is a trifecta you don't want over the past 5 years.

Seen he might have worked out with KC today, if that's true and they take him it's a solid spot. Chiefs seem to do pretty decent with RB's.

The Browns interior line last year actually blocked pretty well for him, and he had some success as a result, so did Chubb. Jags OL was not nearly as good.

I dont think anyone questioned Chubb was better... just depth and value.
If we're going to tilt at windmills...

Apparently you'd rather have Kareem Hunt.

would do well in that offense (who wouldn't). He also wouldn't be relied on to carry the load the entire season either and would be used as a supplemental back to what they already have.

Saw something about this being around a $3M deal for one year. Hope he sees all of it.

Carlos Hyde working to find his place in Chiefs' explosive offense

Kansas City Chiefs RB Carlos Hyde had some interest from a few teams after being released by the Jaguars in May, but we all know where he ultimately ended up. His decision to join the Chiefs was simple.

“Just seeing how explosive the offense is,” Hyde explained. “See how many points they put up on defense. You know, it was a no-brainer for me. Finding a position in this offense someway, somehow contribute to this team and help them win.”

At training camp Hyde is getting a lot of opportunities to find that role on offense. He’s been the first man off the bench in the absence of Damien Williams. His veteran experience has been a welcomed commodity at training camp behind Williams.

Recently, he’s been showing the younger RBs like Darwin Thompson, Marcus Marshall and Josh Caldwell the type of requisite energy level that is needed to successfully get through an NFL training camp. He thinks that the both the RBs and the offense as a whole can continue to do better.

“The energy level has been good,” Hyde said. “You know, we can definitely take it another level though. I think so far, it’s been good. I definitely feel like we have another level in us. I think we have just been playing at the defensive level and they have been bringing pretty good energy and I think we’ve just been playing at that level. I think we can take it a step ahead though.”

Even though Hyde has taken most of his repetitions with the first team offense, he isn’t letting himself off easy. There are still ways and places that he can improve each and every day.

“I give myself a B-plus so far,” Hyde said. “I always feel like there is room to improve. I’m never satisfied so every day I try to come out and get better. That’s with Pat’s (Mahomes) throw, catching the ball, running the ball, just understanding the plays better. So, every day I’m just trying to come out and improve. So, so far I give myself a B-plus.”

With less than a week to go until his first game action as a member of the Chiefs, Hyde is trying to dot his i’s and cross his t’s. He wants to be prepared to execute anything that the coaches throw at him, which in turn could help him prepare for the season to come.

“Preseason I just want to be on point,” Hyde explained. “Execute my plays. Whenever Coach calls my number, you know, execute that play. Make plays for the offense. Show the coaches when it comes to game time, they can definitely count on me and show Pat (Mahomes) also that he can count on me, throwing me the ball when it comes and when it’s real.”

If Hyde does his job during the preseason he could very well find himself with an expanded role in the explosive offense that piqued his interests as a free agent.
