QB Kyle McCord (transfer to Syracuse)

I saw him play a scrimmage against North Jersey power St. Joe's Regional (don't confuse with Kyle's skool - SJP) - anyway - he was awesome and this was the start of his junior year.

Dropping balls into receivers hands 20 to 40 yards down the field. I've rarely seen a HS kid with that much accuracy.

If he doesn't do well in his college career I would be totally shocked.

Go Buckeyes

Just sayin': I thought that he threw more accurate passes and may have out preformed Stroud in the Spring game, his passing "RTGs" were better. However, I have no idea how he graded out compared to Stroud in all the other team practices, etc.

Anyway, if he gets to start against Akron I hope he does great.

Note: I hope anybody playing QB for Ohio State in any game does great.

I hope Kyle McCord, CJ Stroud, Jack Miller, and Quinn Ewers all become gazillionaires in the the NFL. But, I have this weird obsession with seeing McCord earn the starting spot and kicking his home state school's ass.
Right? Not sure why but I'm ultra excited for an Akron game just so I can see what Kyle has. He balled out for the spring game with only a few weeks experience and I wouldn't doubt he does the same in 2 days.

Can't wait for this game. Only issue is what if Kyle goes 17-21 for 300 yards and 4 TDs with multiple impressive throws (no check downs).

Seems obvious to me that Jagger Laroe should be starting.

I thought Kyle's arm was more impressive than anyone's. I thought CJ was more consistent though. It should be noted that sometimes when Kyle missed he knew where to throw the ball but just didn't connect (missed TD throw to JSN for example). It was admittedly pretty close and that was with CJ having a big advantage in having a year in the system.

I'm sure that year in the system helped Stroud's case to be chosen QB1.

We remember that Bauserman went 12-16 with 3 TDs and realize it’s Akron.

The boldest is where I plant my flag.

the stats will be gaudy I'm sure. The thing to watch is whether he's throwing the right receiver. Is he throwing guys open or into tight windows on time. No mistakes or bad decisions is what would earn him more playing time not the stats, imo.

I will preface this weeks game as I was in McCords camp after spring but obviously wanted CJ to succeed too. After the Oregon game I thought CJ was on his way to being amazing then took a step or two back vs Tulsa. He very well might still get there eventually. Let's just see what happens when McCord gets a shot
