QB Justin Zwick (B1G Champion, National Champion)

Brutus, I agree we certainly need his ability to be the backup and we don't won't him hurt. But, if he never plays under that scenario that would be shame also. I was thinking about getting him more involved in the game as a WR or slotback where we could take advantage of his arm and his ability to run the ball on occassion.

I may be wrong but wasn't he returning kickoffs in the Cinci game?

Smith returned kickoffs late in the season last year and IMO was very unimpressive doing so. I've also been very unimpressed with his running from the QB position. Hard for me to imagine he would be a better WR than Holmes, Childress, Hall or Ginn. His best attribute is his arm, not his legs, and if he learns to play the QB position could be a great one. That is what he should focus on.

I agree that we don't need Smith anywhere other than where he's at now. From what I've seen in two spring games, returning kicks last year, and limited action this year, Troy seems like a good athlete, for a QB. People were clamoring for him to see PT at RB/WR but I don't see him being more of a playmaker at those positions than what we already have.

Although I watched the entire game yesterday, the Einsteins at GamePlan forget to go back to video during that play (had audio only) after a break, so I missed his fumble. In a way, I'm glad I did, (saved myself an aneurysm). We had two boneheaded plays in the second half...Ross' fumble and Pitcock's dumbass roughing the passer deep in NCSU territory on 3rd and long which gave them a first down and allowed them drive score a TD later on the drive. Those don't happen and we win 29-7 vice 22-14.

Pitcocks move was dumb, but in his defense he did bounce off the ground about a foot before he hit Davis. It was not intentional and seemed like a touchy pussy QB foul. That said it was no different than any other touchy pussy QB foul, and Quinn the Eskimo should have known better.

I totally disagree. He had plenty of time to slow down to the point where there would've been minimal, if any, contact...he deserved the penalty and I guarantee you the staff has let him know about it.

Yeah, when I first saw the play, I thought it was a bad call. When they showed the replay, though, it was obvious that he could have pulled up, with no problem. I don't remember who it was, but the other OSU player in on the play immediately grabbed Pitcock and pulled him off the QB, he knew it was a dumb move as well.

QB Justin Zwick

not sure if this is more football or politics, but i found it funny, nonetheless...

And Finally: In case you hadn't noticed, it's an election year. OSU quarterback Justin Zwick has already decided how he will cast his presidential vote.
"I don't have time to follow politics too much, but I'm definitely voting for Busch," said Zwick
"I just like the man. He seems down-to-earth to me for the most part and I like that."
obviously just a typo. this is how it appeared in the O-Zone's article. he'd better not let the media get ahold of this or we're all doomed! (even though he is 21)

Where are the brains/accuracy/experience ?

You know I am going to stir this one up !

Zwick was named the starter because he was thought to be the better decision maker, more accurate passer, and because he toted so many years of qb experience with him. Well he has been here for 3 years and I couldn't disagree more.

He does have a stronger arm than I thought, and he is gutsy. His style of play has won me over and I've been boosting him up for a few weeks because he showed signs of greatness. But he is the exact opposite of what we thought he was.

He was said to be a Ck clone with a stronger arm but I say he is a Bellasari clone with less running tendencies.

I think that our offense would be much better if our running was setting up the pass, but Zwick isn't half as brainy as anyone thought he was and if there was ever a time to go to Boeckman or Smith, it was saturday night. Zwick almost has more turnovers in 4 games than we had as a team all last year.

Go ahead and curse me out but I have been been critisized over and over about how I feel about Zwick and Ross and those two fellas are only proving me right. Smith and Pittman sounds like a nice duo to me.

Give it to me !
