QB Justin Fields (2019-20 B1G Off POY, 2020 Silver Football, 2019 B1G CCG MVP, Pittsburgh Steelers)

Would definitely make things interesting for a 1st year head coach to bring in such a high profile transfer. I imagine there would be more than a few members of the team frustrated they brought in someone from the outside to (presumably) take the place of a guy like Martell who has been putting in work for 2 years. Most prominently among them Martell himself.

But you obviously can't pass up a 5 star quarterback at the same time. You could tell he was a special quarterback prospect just watching that show he was on QB1. Just looked a little different than the other QBs on the show, including Martell & Jake Fromm.

The team wouldn't care! You don't realize what day and age these kids live in. I bet most have been friends from the camp circuits since middle school or HS and snapchat and tweet each other. Technology has made the world much much smaller now, Fields probably is friends with most of the frosh at OSU(and at other top teams too)

I seriously doubt that he ends up here; I just love all the falling-sky-panic, kicked-in-the-balls, woe-is-me reaction from the dfbia and hope that continues for a few more days/weeks.

There was a time when I would have been very skeptical. But you are talking about a team that under Ryan Day at one time had Barrett (all time B1G tener in infinite number of categories), Joey Burrow (starting QB for the #11 team in the country) and Haskins (best season in the history of the B1G) all on the roster at the same time. And they have all proven themselves. Why not come here?

That said, QB is a unique position in CFB. Kids go to school and have 3 or 4 years to audition for the NFL. QB is the one position where a single player can keep you off of the field completely for any meaningful minutes. I understand the transfers and think it fair - albeit it troublesome to manage - if they are able to play immediately.

We definitely need a transfer QB of some sort.

It’s amazing how the room went from Tate, Haskins, Burrow to Tate, NFL, LSU.

Tate has 28 pass attempts and no starts and behind him is Baldwin who may be a stud but has zero pass attempts and coming off knee surgery.

And that is the current depth assuming Haskins is NFL bound.
