QB Joe Burrow (transfer to LSU, 2019 Heisman Winner, National Champion, Cincinnati Bengals)

Joe and the Athens offense was as good as advertised. He had two (potential lethal) fumbles in the first quarter but settled in and did work. Once the RB Williams proved he was a game breaker as well and Big Red had to be aware of the run, all bets were off. Athens will be playing in week 13 for sure. All in all a good football game minus the monsoon.

yeah i believe it was something like 58-42

High scoring game but definitely a huge win for Athens. Seems like they have the talent to win state with Burrows at the helm. Really happy to see he shined in the spotlight...reminds you that even if Gibson does work out at QB for us, this kid will compete.

No that's not the case at all. Did it sound like I was upset in my original recap? I knew Athens was going to be a monster of a challenge. I've seen it from Dover for years. High powered spread attack, no defense. This is Athens best team in their school's history. Their defense leaves much to be desired. I stand by my statement. If wrong, I'll be the first to admit it.

Yeah because Dover ever actaul has real good talent. I cant remember the last time they put up anyone at a high D1 school like Ohio State. They also play a creampuff schedule and a creampuff confrence every year

Seems like Joe Burrow is definitely a better prospect than 5-star Shane Morris was at this point in his development.

(Sounds a bit like damning with faint praise here ... Looking forward to seeing Burrow in S&G.)

Joey Burrow, Ohio State's QB security blanket they had to lock down in their backyard
Don't believe Burrow is truly committed to Oho State regardless of who else comes in? He politely declined when Alabama called a few weeks ago.

If the Buckeyes end up bringing in another quarterback in 2015 or 2016, Burrow assured that he'd remain loyal to his commitment. Even if Ohio State wasn't the home school, Burrow thinks he still would've come to this conclusion.

"They might have had to recruit me a little more than they did, or sell me on it, but I know I would end up being a Buckeye," Burrow said.
