QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

Just watched this kids Soph film. I am nowhere close to a talent evaluator but I sure do see what people mean when they say he throws with nice touch. From the clips I saw it looked like he put each pass in the perfect spot for the WR. I have no clue about how important arm strength is and whether this kid has the physical tools that people talk about but he just seems to throw an awfully nice ball to me.

He has very good-great arm strength. He really has all the tools and is extremely advanced technically at this early stage. Landing him early would be HUGE for the '16 class and he could be a leader for us. I gave the nod slightly to Malik Henry on who I want the most at QB for '16 but by a minutia...really they are almost dead even. I would have both in the top 5 QBs in the country for '16 no questions asked. Plus you gotta throw in that Dwayne has been a Buckeye fan for some time now, which counts for a lot in my book...has always wanted to be a Buckeye.

Another thought is how well he fits in with the talent we have. He is a distributor of the ball and will enable our guys to make plays. But also in terms of QBs on the roster, he brings a new dynamic. Burrows does not have the arm strength of Haskins but looks a tad more athletic and is a little taller. If Gibson comes here, you have a pure athlete who has an arm but is far from a sure thing at QB. Then Haskins is an all-around talent that is definitely a passer first but can definitely run...plus he is a tremendous leader.

You can tell that the staff wants Haskins in early. Imagine if Meyer and Herman did not need to spend their time evaluating and securing their QB commitment. With Clark in for 2017 and a possible early commitment for Haskins, they would have time to work on the making the 2016 and 2017 recruiting classes the best in the Meyer/OSU era. Add in the fact that both Clark and Haskins seem to be kids other recruits are drawn to. Things could be setting up nicely for the next 5 to 6 years.
