Glad to see this! With Ryan always being involved with the QBs this will help develop Corey. With how young he is we can really have some staff continuity.

With him and Hartline it gives us some very good young coaches!

Go recruit like your father-in-law and continue to learn how to be a QB guru under Ryan Day.

You might just make it in the coaching profession with that kind of mentoring.

Props to him. Couldn't have easy being on the staff as Urban's son in law but he has obviously worked hard and impressed people on his own merit.

This also leaves the ability to bring in another up and coming coach to fill an opening.

    Props to Corey!

Happy to see this. Means there is significant confidence in his ability and he fits with what the team needs. I'm also for continuity of assistant coaches.

Honest question, how does anyone here know he's a bright young mind and the next great QB coach?

Because two Heisman finalists and a Heisman winner say he is?

    Because Coach Day says so.

He was smart enough to marry Urban's daughter.

I missed that but I'm sure Urban said something similar about Zach Smith and Bill Davis.

Day and multiple QBs are quoted at length on what they think about Dennis and his hire as QB coach, in the linked 11W article above. Not much more anyone here can say to convince ya.

I haven’t seen anything to indicate that Day has the same kind of loyalty blind spot Urban had. If anything, the evidence thus far has shown him to be ruthlessly shrewd in managing both staff and players. Urban might’ve moved Dennis up if he was only marginally qualified. No way Day does that.
