As a Junior Brayden averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds a game. Led his team to a 24-4 record.

The most skilled big man in the west for 2005. Shoots it deep, also has a terrific jump hook. Body should get real strong with weight work. Defense and rebounding need improvement. Visited tOSU in September 04 and made his commitment later that month. Brayden is a 3 star prospect who moves well for a big man and is very athletic, he has range from 15-19 feet. Can shoot the three. He was considering UCLA, Indiana and Utah.

I believe Bell has also signed a LOI to play at OSU, like Mayes, although I couldn't find a story on it.

Also, those pics are much better than the early ones of Bell -- the first ones, his face was covered in acne. They were apparently from his sophomore year.. kinda like Jim Cordle. Now, he looks like a young adult, built well and a good player. Excited to see him here.

Here's the stats I found for Brayden so far.
His rebounding was only listed for one game and he had 10 in that game.
I assume he was suspended for the 2nd Alta game.
Skyline, Bingham, and Alta are ranked 1st, 3rd, and 5th in their region.
There are actually 2 players on his team with the first name Brayden.
The * games were in some sort of tournament possibly in Nevada.

"All that matters is we're starting over at 0-0," said Brighton's Brayden Bell, who finished with a game-high 22 points. "We finally got into the state tournament. That's all we wanted."
A month ago, a state tournament berth seemed like an impossible task for an underachieving team with a 1-6 region record. Then, following a double-overtime loss to region-leading Bingham on Feb. 8 that dropped them to 3-7, the Bengals knew exactly what was required of them — win four straight or forget about state.
Jordan, meanwhile, was simply trying to win one game. Back on Feb. 3, the 'Diggers were still in the hunt for the region title with a 6-2 record. Entering Tuesday's game, however, Jordan was marred in a five-game losing streak, and a sixth loss would leave the 'Diggers on the outside looking in.
In a game that featured 13 lead changes, and one Brighton coach Lyndon Johnson called "as good a high school game as I've been a part of," it was Bengal point guard Taylor Gleave that swayed momentum in Brighton's way for good.
Gleave, who finished with 19 points, hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final 31 seconds of the third quarter to put Brighton in front 44-42.
In the fourth quarter, the Bengals preserved the lead by connecting on 16-of-18 free throws, while Jordan couldn't shake its icy shooting as it finished the game by making 15-of-52 field goals.
"Gleave hit two big 3s, and then we just executed very well," said Johnson. "The kids responded and got the ball were we wanted it."
Brighton will face Viewmont in the opening round of the 5A State Tournament next Tuesday at the Dee Events Center at 2:30 p.m.
As expected, a somber mood existed in Jordan's locker room after the game, but it was only partially due to the loss.
Last Tuesday, Jordan coach Dave McConnell's mother, Ada, passed away in an automobile accident in Hershey, Neb. McConnell missed last Friday's game with Alta to attend his mother's funeral, and only returned to Utah an hour before the team's sophomore game Tuesday at 4 p.m.
"I'm proud of my guys, they played as hard as they could," said McConnell. "I told them after the game, the first rule they need to learn is that life isn't fair. The only thing we can control is our attitudes."
Even as Brighton's student section chanted "season's over" in the final minute, McConnell was honored to see his players end the game in class. McConnell's tragedy made them realize there are more important things than basketball.

Bell's season ends

This was only one game, but it sounds like he will need to improve drastically over the summer to earn playing time.

He also possesses a big-time game.
Feeling right at home in the Dee Events Center, the Weber State signee finished with a game-high 29 points and 13 rebounds to lead Viewmont to a 57-45 win over Brighton Tuesday in the first-round of the 5A State Tournament.
"Coming into the tournament, we told Sol he had to shoot the ball," said Emery. "It's nice when probably your best player, you have to get on him to shoot more."
The often unselfish Jensen didn't ignore his coach's request. He shot the ball 27 times, making 11. Conversely, Brighton's Brayden Bell, who has signed with Ohio State University, finished with 16 points but struggled from the field by only making 5 of 17.
Bell's hot hand the past three weeks helped Brighton win four straight games to earn a state tournament berth on the final day of the regular season. Against Viewmont, Bell couldn't get anything to fall early. During one stretch in the second quarter Bell missed four straight shots on four straight possessions, while Viewmont countered with a 10-0 run to open up a 27-16 lead.
Brighton put together its own run early in the third quarter and closed the gap to 27-26.
Jensen took over after that.
"The two biggest possessions were when they came to one point," said Emery. "We came down and had two great possessions, got Sol two really good looks, and he buried them.
"That kind of got us back into our mode of if we execute and get good looks, the ball will eventually go in."
Jensen scored six points during a Viewmont 13-2 run to end the third quarter, putting the Vikings comfortably ahead 40-28.
There would be no rally for the Bengals, who finished with a 26.9 field-goal percentage.
Jensen wasn't the only Viking with a hot hand. Senior point guard Chris Romney made 6-of-13 field goals to finish with 17 points. He also added six assists.
"He might be the toughest kid as far as . . . he isn't afraid to be the guy that fails, and that's why he's able to be successful in critical situations," said Emery.
Viewmont will face West Jordan in Thursday's 6 p.m. quarterfinal.

It was certainly a poor perfomance for this game but you are completely focused on the negative. This is from your own posted article - "Bell's hot hand the past three weeks helped Brighton win four straight games to earn a state tournament berth".

Why focus on one bad game while ignoring 4 good ones.

I am fully aware that this is only one game, a fact that I mentioned in my comments. I am simply being realistic. If you look at my previous posts in this thread you will see that I tracked his performance for the whole season.

It's obviously a big step up from HS basketball in Utah to NCAA D-I, and an even bigger step up once B10 play begins. I place greater emphasis on this game than other single games because this was a playoff game, and he was going against a 6'8" D-I signee. Any good HS player should look great when facing average HS players, the top players also perform well when matched against other top prospects. You also have to realize that he will be fighting for playing time with Twilliger who hopefully will also improve over the summer. I would hope Bell also feels he needs to improve before he sees the floor here.
