OC/WR Coach Brian Hartline (Official Thread)

Which Buckeye had the greatest impact on the Ohio State history of the position he played?

I think he will wait to see if Day gets ran out of town after next season. Harrison, Egbuka and the guys he knows well will be gone except Ballard. If something happens next year and Day remains the HC and more offers come in at better places, he might just go and take the 5 Star WR's he's recruited with him. That will be a fucking problem. Dont think for a second that Hartline doesn't remember very vividly his michigan weeks and this past two season is likely pissing him tf off more than the rest of that staff.

I believe the relationship, communication and timing would be such that if he was to eventually leave at some point and go a different direction..... he's a Buckeye through and through so I'd imagine some kids would follow him, but I feel it would be done in a way so it wouldn't seem like poaching from OSU..... hopefully...... If that makes sense? Or maybe that's me wishful thinking and just hoping he never leaves.....lol

He's the most valuable coach in the country right now. He recruits like magic and those guys are all going high in the league. When LJ was putting the Bosa's and company in the league with Chase Young it was him but the torch has been passed.

I'm going to be my usual contrarian self and voice the opinion that WR development was substandard this season. Beyond MHJ and Egbuka, we had a former walk-on, a few walking wounded and zilch from our touted freshman class. Why?

I love Hartline, but it's not as though he has nothing to answer for after the Michigan loss.
Particularly no freshman playing.

We saw what Olave did to Michigan in 2018. However ever since 2018 the WR rotation just keeps getting shorter and shorter.

It's actually not that contrarian. It's a valid point.

Both things can be true though. There were questions from this fucked up ass season in every position group but Hartline is still, imo, the best recruiter and position coach on the staff. Doesn't mean he's perfect.
