QB Kyle McCord (transfer to Syracuse)

What are the odds an Ohio St. commit wins it two years in a row? Watching Stroud in the finals last year you could see how accuracy and quick release are keys and McCord is certainly blessed in those areas. But the third key is having surehanded receivers which is really the luck of the draw. In Stroud's games he was blessed...McCord? We'll see Sunday.

Let's not forget that 2017 Justin Fields won the Elite 11 MVP, if McCord were to do it. That would give OSU 3 QBs on roster to do such. Idk if any other team in the country can say that

Just sayin': It's kind of interesting to see the history of the Elite 11, as to who won and who the other 10 that didn't win were, i.e. needless to say, winning the Elite 11 doesn't guarantee the most successful college career:

The winner doesn't always have the best college career, like in 2001, this guy won:

and this guy from Glenville, Ohio didn't win:

and this guy from Houston, Texas didn't win either:

Like I mentioned in my above post, its essentially a crapshoot on what receivers they're matched up with. The championship game last year the guy who lost to Stroud played just as well as he did but was plagued by several drops. He even was heard on the game video muttering at one point about his receivers not catching the ball. So yeah, 'winning' isn't really any kind of indicator of future success. But like Urban says "if they're keeping score...".

THE HURRY-UP: TONY GRIMES COMMITS TO NORTH CAROLINA, BUCKEYE COMMITS WORKING HARD TO LAND ANOTHER, KYLE MCCORD ELITE 11 UPDATE

MCCORD STRUGGLES OUT OF THE GATE

Five-star Ohio State commit Kyle McCord is one of 20 quarterbacks who is competing in the Elite 11 Finals this week down in Nashville.

If McCord is going to join Justin Fields (2017) and C.J. Stroud (2020) as Buckeye quarterbacks who recently earned MVP honors at the competition, he will have to bounce back from his day one struggles.

McCord was reportedly a bit inconsistent on Monday's opening night of the three-day competition. In ranking each quarterback's day one performance, Rivals ranked McCord at No. 11, and Sports Illustrated ranked McCord at No. 13.

I’m loving his size right now, he’s going to be a QB with decent height and good enough mobility at the college level. Good to see that he moved on from what must have been opening night jitters

He's in good shape now going into tomorrow's scrimmages. Loved it when after today's effort someone yelled out " O-H " and he didn't
hesitate with the " I-O ".
