QB Kyle McCord (transfer to Syracuse)

Awesome news, huge commitment and you love it when a big time QB gets on board so early so he can lead the class and help recruit. As others mentioned, amazing ball placement and the kid can let it rip. Also gotta love the athleticism, I think McCord and Miller are going to give us some really balanced QBs at the helm in the future who can run and pass. Fingers crossed he can get Marvin Harrison Jr. on board too, we were already sitting pretty and this only helps. Welcome aboard Mr. McCord!

Welcome to the fam, Kyle. I like the Mayfield comparison, but I can also see a Matthew Baldwin comparison too. QBs who can move the pocket, escape the pass rush and put the ball on the money. I hope Day can also nab Harrison Jr. after getting McCord. I like the strategy of getting your top QB early and then build around him

I liked that he (almost) always squared his shoulders before throwing on the roll-outs or when escaping the pocket. Athletic kids usually just rely on athletic ability at that level. Looks like he could be good.
That's the biggest thing I noticed myself too. Outstanding base and drives with his lower body. Very impressive for being a sophomore!

  • Rivals.com released their top QB’s from the Rivals Three Star camp on Monday and Ohio State 2021 verbal commit Kyle McCord was slated at No. 3. Rivals had the following to say about McCord:
Although McCord did not win MVP at the New Jersey Rivals Camp stop, his performance was still among the best on the entire series, and he earned an invitation to the Five-Star Challenge this summer in Atlanta as a result. The class of 2021 prospect spins a beautiful ball, and his performance was even more impressive considering it was done in a rainstorm the day of the New Jersey camp. The Ohio State commit also showed the moxie necessary to continue the recent run of top quarterbacks in Columbus.
