QB Kyle McCord (transfer to Syracuse)

I think he's 100% Crystal Balled to Oklahoma. BTW the whole "fix is in" thing emanated from an allegation that the 50% prior rating+50% camp rating (which would've dropped Williams out of 1st place) was mysteriously changed after the final round to 75% prior + 25% camp which gave it to Williams. After controversy arose 247 Sports said it had always been 75-25.

How could Stroud win if it was 75% junior film when he entered last years E11 one of the lowest ranked guys?

I believe it's 50% junior film and 50% camp performance. But to your point .... Stroud was a monster at camp last year to overcome being in the bottom of the junior season film.

That's where the alleged "fix" came from. The players supposedly competed thinking it was 50-50 as it was in Stroud's 2019 class. Allegedly at the conclusion of the last competition they thought
someone (not sure which QB) besides Williams finished atop the board. If you remember Williams had a great day one then seemed to flounder the last two days. At some point Williams was declared the winner and after complaints from the press the criteria was revealed to be 75-25 which either it had been changed from the year Stroud won or it was changed during the competition. Ergo, the "fix"comment. Most of the complaints I read were of this ilk ( Why even have a competition if it's so heavily based on what the qbs did in 2019?" Hope this helps.

He looks good. We'll be lacking at the QB spot once Fields goes pro (likely next draft).

Buckeyes pushing to add Quinn Ewers as well who is currently #2 recruit in 2022 class -

Lacking with Stroud, Miller and McCord ???

Have you actually looked at the roster and seen who they signed in 2020???

The guy has a grand total of three posts (one on Dec 6, 2018 and two today), and they've essentially gibberish...he just wanted the links to his YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram accounts in his signature to be seen (links which I have removed).

I quoted this as this last one regarding this discussion so nothing personal. But count me as somebody who could give a darn about the rankings at Elite 11 and any other competition. I’ll go with the guy that Day wanted and let that run it’s course

Emeka Egbuka is a high priority for Kyle McCord

Ohio State signal caller pledge Kyle McCord showed out at the Elite 11 Finals last week, with his Pro Day performance being the highest rated of any player at the event.

On top of slinging the pigskin, McCord also took time to speak with Dave while he was in Nashville. The borderline five-star prospect opened up about his relationships with Buckeye quarterback Justin Fields and future Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy, as well as the players he's recruiting on behalf of the program.

To no one's surprise, McCord revealed that he is heavily pursuing five-star pass catcher Emeka Egbuka. Egbuka, who hails from Steilacoom, Washington, is the top-ranked wide receiver in this class, and is the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2021 cycle.

McCord committed to Ryan Day's staff near the end of his sophomore campaign back in April 2019, and has made it a point to recruit Egbuka heavily from that point forward.

During the interview, McCord said he believes Ohio State is in a "good position to get him." McCord also brought up a rumor that Egbuka would be committing by the end of the summer, but that rumor did not originate from the West Coast target.

If this does come to fruition and Egbuka opts to announce a decision in a few weeks, I would give Ohio State the edge over Clemson, Oklahoma and Washington.

McCord also mentioned that he's spoken with Rivals250 offensive lineman Jager Burton, and says Kentucky is their biggest competition right now.

This interview was definitely encouraging for Buckeye fans as you always look to your quarterback pledge to be the leader of a class. McCord, along with TreVeyon Henderson, is doing an excellent job of recruiting for Ohio State and trying to get other star players to join them.

Just sayin': You gotta love the recruits that recruit too.

MCCORD MOVES UP RANKINGS
Kyle McCord started off slow at the Elite 11 Finals, but finished strong at the event, making a strong case for MVP by showing off what 247Sports analyst Barton Simmons called “one of the strongest arms in the country.”

Simmons wrote:

After the first day of action, we had some questions about McCord. He’s big and strong with an effortless arm but ball path and trajectory raised some concerns for a guy that is primarily an in-pocket passer. The next two days McCord really started to separate in terms of arm talent though. He’s just a big dude with big features that generates a lot of horsepower without digging too deep. He’s more Dwayne Haskins than Justin Fields for Ohio State but given all the talent Ohio State has been recruiting at wide receiver, he seems like a perfect trigger man to just sit back, stand tall and deliver.

On Wednesday, McCord saw a slight rise in his ranking because of his performance in Nashville, as he rose nine spots from No. 52 to No. 43 in the 247Sports rankings, which boosted him from No. 24 to No. 22 in the composite rankings.

MCCORD, HARRISON MAY NOT PLAY
The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association followed the same path that the Ohio High School Athletic Association is going down, with the plan to move forward with fall sports in 2020. That means Ohio State targets like Derrick Davis Jr. and Nicholas Singleton should be able to continue playing.

However, the Philadelphia Catholic League on Monday chose to postpone the fall season, The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Philip Anastasia reported.

That would knock Buckeye quarterback and receiver commits Kyle McCord and Marvin Harrison Jr. out of game action this fall, meaning the next time they play a game would likely be at Ohio State. (Since they would likely follow in the footsteps of fellow Ohio State commits like TreVeyon Henderson, Evan Pryor and Sam Hart who have opted out of postponed seasons in Virginia, North Carolina and Colorado, respectively.)

That said, Anastasia reported that St. Joseph's Prep is still looking to potentially move forward with a season as an independent, so there's still a chance McCord and Harrison could get a chance to play their senior years.

St. Joseph’s Prep, like La Salle and Devon Prep, is a member of the PCL but is not under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Those three schools can continue to pursue fall sports if their administrations make those decisions.

The St. Joseph’s Prep football program, which has won four state titles in the last six years, is one of the strongest in the country and features multiple players who have committed to play NCAA Division I college football.

St. Joseph’s Prep athletic director Dan DiBernardinis said the Hawks will investigate the possibility of playing fall sports as an independent, although scheduling games, especially in football, could prove to be a difficult challenge. La Salle is also looking at that option, according to athletic director Joe Parisi.

“Whatever happens, I’ve already talked to my coach about it. I’m gonna early enroll either way,” McCord said, adding that Harrison is likely to enroll early as well, though he said he doesn’t want to speak for his teammate. “That was the decision I made once this whole thing went kind of crazy and states started canceling. I just made my mind up that early enrolling was gonna be the best decision for me, especially with how hard I worked academically to be able to do it, it would kind of just go to waste if I didn’t. I’d miss out on my last high school season if it does get pushed to spring so I’m hoping that doesn’t happen. But either way, I’m gonna early enroll.
