P Jesse Mirco (transfer to Vanderbilt)

Welcome to the fam Jesse. As we've seen in some big games, punters can alter a game with field position and be a great piece in the chess game of football. And OSU has done pretty well with Aussie punters too

Dude looks like he's 30.

Welcome, Bruce!

Re: Jesse Mirco, a 23-year-old Australia rules football player and Prokick Australia punter from Fremantle, a port city in Perth, Western Australia, has committed to Ohio State for the 2021 season.

He's not 30; but still. as an incoming Freshman he could be the oldest guy on the team. Regardless, we're glad to have him on the team.

Look at the positive side, there's no way he'll be arrested for under age drinking......

Just sayin': That ProKick Australia punting academy is really producing the punters. Sparty just landed one:

SPARTANS LAND OHIOAN AND AUSSIE

Gravely committed to Michigan State on Friday night at 8 p.m., but 12 hours earlier that day, the Spartans landed an Australia punter by the name of Mark Vassett. Just like Jesse Mirco, the Australian punter who Ohio State landed this week, Vassett is a member of ProKick Australia, a punting academy based in Australia that helps set up colleges with the top punters down under. Vassett got a shoutout from Mirco after announcing his decision.

We might have a friendly rivalry between the Buckeye and Sparty punters in the coming years.

INDIANA GETS ITS OWN AUSSIE PUNTER

ProKick Australia has been hard at work during this pandemic, placing their stud punting prospects with college programs in need.

In the past few weeks, it has had kickers commit to Ohio State (with Jesse Mirco), Michigan State, Georgia Tech, and Cincinnati, among others. This week, it set up New Zealand-based punter James Evans with the Indiana Hoosiers.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and 207 pounds, Evans is exactly the type of punter that ProKick constantly produces – big kid with a big leg. Evans' impact in the 2021 recruiting class for the Hoosiers may not be very big, but his future impact in Bloomington could be huge.

It sure seems like it's: you get an Aussie punter, you get an Aussie punter, you get an Aussie punter, you get an Aussie punter, you get an Aussie punter, you get an Aussie punter ....

Prokick Australia is no stranger to producing American college football kickers and punters. The company has trained six of the last seven Ray Guy Award winners, 17 All Americans, and has placed over 140 players on scholarship.
