P Cameron Johnston (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I remember an announcer saying that his first punt (?) almost got blocked? It did not look that way to me, but I haven't seen the replay. I am cautiously optimistic.
Not sure if it was the first or second punt but the rusher came untouched from the punter's right side and barely missed blocking it.

That was the first one, I believe. Had to go up to catch the snap and then get it off. I wondered if that was actually better for his first football punt. Having to react like that and get it off meant that he couldn't over-think it and shank it or get it blocked.

After 3 games, OSU is 20th in FBS in Net Punting. 11 punts for 458 yards (41.64 avg) with 0 return yards and 0 touchbacks.

... still waiting for the day he uncorks a 70 yarder ...

Have you noticed he hardly follows through on his kicks?

Most punters come off the ground, but Cam just short legs it. I'm assuming he's been instructed to boot them high and make them unreturnable. I'll be interested to see him really uncork one, but I like the conservative approach by not allowing returns. I've been really happy with his performance, especially after it felt like Benny was gonna get blocked every time.

All six punts inside the 20, 5 within the ten. Nails performance from the Aussie.

Those are huge. I'll take 42 yard punt with no return all day long. How long was the punt at the end of the night. He still got enough hang time to force a fair catch. A 70 yarder will likely have a 30 yard return. And once the returner has some momentum, it's difficult to stop them. 5/6 punts inside the 10, part of that was we were able to get around midfield prior to punting. But no touchbacks is also huge; he is able to put the ball wherever he wants.
