OL Thayer Munford (Las Vegas Raiders, 1st Team All B1G, 1st Team All-American)

So let's see...Thayer made 2nd team all B10 at 80%, right? And with two first round NFL picks, Davis and Myers, and a reported ceiling higher than those two (!), sounds pretty conceivable that there's three first rounders going pro this year. Yeah, should be the best in the land. Hopefully the proof in the pudding is zero sacks of Fields this year (barring coverage sacks - which I don't expect any until playoff), the Buckeye O should be pretty spectacular. Is it Saturday yet? Go Bucks! Remember, this year, style points count

KEPT HIM CLEAN. The Buckeyes played probably the best pass-rushing duo they'll see all season with Shaka Toney and Jason Oweh in the Penn State trenches, but they were a total non-factor on Saturday night because Thayer Munford and Nicholas Petit-Fere were damn-near perfect.

There was, of course, that one time Justin Fields got hit like from behind a damn tackling dummy by some fellow running full speed, unimpeded straight into him, but the sad thing is that was actually Fields' fault for not identifying the rush either presnap or postsnap.

The one Wyatt let get through (Shelton), Fields didn't move up in the pocket on that one either. If there is anything he needs to work on, it's feeling pressure and moving away from pressure in the pocket, sensing the pocket is closing down on him and sometimes just throwing it away instead of taking the loss. All minor things, but I love that he is getting through his progressions and keeping his eyes downfield trying to make a play.

OT's did an amazing job on Saturday night.

Nothing makes me happier than reading this. Both tackles did an outstanding job, I'm ecstatic NPF has taken his opportunity and is excelling so far. You can tell his body is so much more developed now, the difference from last year is astounding. If he keeps it up, he's going to make himself some real money. Same goes for Thayer, he's improving his stock quite a bit.

On the Shelton sack, I thought Fields did see it, and probably would have escaped it, but his foot slipped when he tried to go. As happened to many that night in the slippery Beaver.

Just sayin': Usually the best offensive linemen is the ones that their name never gets mentioned on TV. Pretty much the only time an offensive lineman's name gets mentioned is if he was flagged for holding, committed a false start, totally missed a block that lead to QB sack or TFL, or snapped the ball over the QB's head, etc. You know, so far this season (unlike the other 4 OL starters) I don't recall hearing Thayer Munford's name being mentioned at all. I'm thinking that he must be doing a damn good job so far this year.
