OT Dawand Jones (All B1G, All-American, Cleveland Browns)

Dawand at guard could be really appealing in certain situations, particularly short yardage. That said, I think he's versatile enough to play there regularly and if we subscribe to the 6th best OL playing wherever and whenever needed, Dawand might fit that bill. But as mentioned, might in part speak to how good Paris looks at tackle.

I think that this has the potential to set up well for next year. Paris moves left, Dawand slides outside...

THE SHADE! With pretty much every NFL announcement made at this point, we can now get a good idea of what next year's team is going to look like – as our very own Colin Hass-Hill did on Twitter.com.

It was helpful and fun, except it took Big Thanos all of seven minutes to call out the snub.

I'm not sure what it says that Dawand just went ahead and assumed the "Jones" at right guard wasn't him, but personally, I would love to see 6-foot-8, 360 pounds somewhere on the offensive line, so you better believe I will be openly stumping for him all offseason.

Just askin': If Dawand doesn't make a starting position on the OL, anyone else think he might be a good candidate to move to the defense? At 6' 8"/360 lbs. and his "basketball quickness"; I just think he'd be an ideal candidate for NT. I don't think there are very many OCs or OGs (if any) in college football that could effectively handle him.

Great question Script, while most teams favor putting the 'best' on the OL, would think there is a place for Big Thanos on the DL. Seem to recollect that on goal line stands, the Buckeyes put Orlando and (the Viking tackle who passed - sorry) on the DL, and that worked pretty well. He certainly would be a space eater. Anyone know how many presses he does with 220? Maybe someone oughta alert Coombs to the potential?

That might have been Korey Stringer.

I would very much doubt it unless it was some goal line specialty scheme to eat up space. I don't see the tools there to play DL consistently. Plus I think Dawand is going to be our critical "next guy up" or 6th OL if he doesn't win a starting job. I think he'll get plenty of PT regardless and there is always an injury along the OL at some point, and will be a huge part of our offense. Also wouldn't mind seeing him as a TE/6th OL in goal line situations, no doubt the dude can move people, especially when people are boxed in and can't get out in space.
