Visit supposedly went pretty well this weekend, but I’ll believe a Wisconsin OL comes here when I see it.

Hinzman has been told OSU will have a new OL coach and needs time to see who it is.
Believe it or not he reportedly thinks highly of Stud.

The longer his recruitment lasts, the better for Ohio State, IMHO. Gives Carson more time to think about going away for college and gives OSU boosters more time to get their NIL charity together

I like your thinking..... but in my experience following recruiting for the last 20+ years, it typically works the opposite for small-town kids. The longer his recruitment goes, the more it favors the hometown team and the childhood favorite.

Carson has stated that he knows that Ohio State is at an elite level and that Wisconsin isn't. It is a heart vs head deal right now. His heart wants to stay home. But his head tells him that Ohio State is the best choice and will give him the greater opportunity to win championships.

Similarly, I've been following Buckeye recruiting since 2002. Quick, easy, hometown commits happen right now. And he didn't do it right now

This one is worth more thought. He waited. That's good news for the good guys in this situation *shrugs shoulders*
