A Buckeye commit checked out a rival over the weekend.

The weekend got kicked off on Friday when news broke that long time Ohio State pledge Kareem Walker would take an official visit to Ann Arbor to check out the Buckeyes' archrival Michigan Wolverines on Saturday for their game against Northwestern.

Jim Harbaugh and the UM staff are trying to make New Jersey a main hub for future Wolverines. Taking the trip to UM with other Garden State natives including his high school teammate Quayshon Alexander, and current UM commit Ahmir Mitchell, Walker, a long-time verbal OSU commit, got the chance to see what it would be like to play on the other side of the fence.

Walker's Michigan visit isn't the first time he has taken a trip to another school, and from the sounds of things it won't be his last. Per Keith Idec of NorthJersey.com, the DePaul Catholic senior is reportedly also planning to take officials to not just Ohio State, but also Alabama, Mississippi, and is contemplating a visit to Arizona State as well.

Walker surprised many by committing to Ohio State during the national championship game in January. The top rated running back in the country, he's looked as one of the gems of the Buckeyes' star studded 2016 class.

Walker's recruitment could be one to keep an eye on over the coming months. Stay with Land-Grant Holy Land for the latest.

2018 DL talks OSU trip

Over 100,000 screaming fans weren't the ones inside Ohio Stadium for Ohio State's match-up against Maryland on Saturday. So were a gang of future and potential Buckeyes.

One of the uncommitted prospects to take in Ohio State's win was class of 2018 defensive tackle Taron Vincent.

"The OSU trip was great. I loved the atmosphere. It was great. I got to have one-on-one time with Coach Johnson, and Coach Meyer," the son of former NFL great Troy Vincent stated to Land-Grant Holy Land. "They were just saying how excited they were I was there and asked how my season was going."

The talented sophomore currently holds over a dozen scholarship offers from across the country. With over two years left until he signs with a college, the 6'3, 285-pound, Baltimore, Maryland native has yet to name a leader, but does have a few programs currently sticking out.

"I'm not really focusing on favorites right not. I've just been focusing on high school, but Ohio State, Georgia Tech, UCLA, Alabama, North Carolina State, and Wisconsin," he said.

According to 247Sports, Vincent is currently the second defensive tackle, and 19th overall prospect in the 2018 class.

  • 2016 commit Demario McCall's senior season has been full with injuries, and Friday was no different. After his best play of the night, a 23-yard run, McCall came up grasping his right hamstring, and didn't return to the game. From the sidelines in street clothes, the four-star prospect watched his North Ridgeville squad fall to Avon, 48-14.
  • While McCall's night might not have gone the way he wanted it to go, many of his future Buckeye teammates shined under the lights. Which OSU pledge did enough to grab your MVP vote this week? The poll is open. Let your voice be heard.
