Bucks sign 2 top 25 recruits
Especially excited to see how Jack Anthrop develops.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State director of tennis Ty Tucker has once again set a challenge spring schedule. In addition to the Big Ten schedule, the Buckeyes will face a handful of Top-25 teams in the non-conference portion of the schedule.
The Buckeyes will open the team portion of the season against a familiar foe in Illinois in a non-conference match on Jan. 22. After that, the Buckeyes will head to North Carolina for the ITA Kickoff Weekend. There, they will open against Arizona State and then play either North Carolina or Northwestern.
The Buckeyes will entertain traditional powers in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Wake Forest at home in the early part of the February before hopefully making an appearance at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in mid-February in Seattle, Wash. The month closes with a home match vs. UCF and then a trip to Notre Dame.
This year’s spring break trip will be to Texas to take on Texas and Texas A&M. That will lead into Big Ten play starting at the end of March. With just 10 Big Ten schools sponsoring men’s tennis, Tucker and the Buckeyes have picked up non-conference matches against both Illinois and Michigan prior to the regularly scheduled conference matches. After the Jan. 22 match, OSU and Illinois will meet in their conference match in Columbus on March 25. The non-conference match with Michigan will be March 18 in Ann Arbor and then the two will meet on April 15 in a conference match in Columbus.
