OG Donovan Jackson (Official Thread)

Hey ShowMe, EVERY OL needs to be stout, whether it's PassPro or shoot-out run blocking in tOSU offense. Gone are the days of the OL guys with guts hanging over their belts, because 'in the wet weather, we need big boys to keep their footing'. Don't think that the last three tOSU coaches have recruited that kind, but Mickey M has taken them and changed that into muscle. Chiseled them so to speak, and has improved their footwork so they are no longer one dimensional. And besides, (as I'm a veteran Woody watcher), tOSU philosophy hasn't changed much over the decades. Woody always recruited tackles, and if they didn't work out, he plugged them into the line as guards or centers. So in relation to your comment above (which I endorse), I believe that the OL has more 5*s than any other position group. (Somebody will have fun with that statement). The way we're recruiting OL guys, methinks that tOSU will have a very solid OL for years to come. Not promising terribly deep depth, but very serviceable. And as long as Coach Johnson is in place, tOSU will have an outstanding DL as well. And those two will sharpen each other on the practice field. Lovely. Anyway, rain canceled golf today, so have some extra time to run my mouth on the keyboard. Have a grand turkey day and GO BUCKS!

Kurelic CB for Ohio State.

Birm thinks it may happen soon as well.

From your keyboard top the ear of the Ohio State gods my friend. Jackson would be a HUGE get so early on in the 2021 cycle, seriously think he's one of the best OL in the class. Doesn't hurt us too have so meant Texas natives balling out this year. Browning and Okudah of course, but Dobbins and Garrett Wilson stole the show in The Game.

As for position, he has the athleticism and versatility to play guard or tackle, which is a plus. I personally think he's got great feet for a RT.
