USC has the guys to replace Leinart. People said the same stuff about their backups when Palmer left. Norm Chow on the other hand, would be very tough to replace. Even if they have a good protege in line, it's still not the same as having the genuine article.

With a new QB next year they will drop a game early. IMO they will lose to ASU with a new QB. ASU will shock alot of teams next year. They have the makings of an outstanding team. Chow is one in a million IMO he cannot be replaced.

What's funny is that Pete says in the times today about the three trojans Tatupu,Malone,and Leinart that his NFL sources say that they "should stay, that they will increase their value,, they'll be better off, they'll be more ready for when the time comes."
Who's his NFL source?, Rodgers agent?

what does norm chow of usc do that makes him so successful? if somebody knows, bottle it and put it in osu's locker room. if nobody knows, why don't they? there must be 30,000 miles of film to study for this guy's 'tendencies' by now. is he just inscrutable?

i can't believe nobody has broken down his DNA by now, given his record. i say USC is cheating. espn needs to assert this, and stand by it.

bet Coach T could do a thing on him, best of ten.

Norm Chow is good, but he isn't Pete Carill (...waiting :wink2: ). You can bet that there are several people on that offensive staff that are keeping studious notes of what Chow is doing in games and practices. I get the feeling some people are going to make a lot of money riding his coattails. Consider it the Bill Walsh effect.

What Chow does is script 15 plays for his offense. He see how the defense reacts and looks for weaknesses and favorable matchups. He then attacks the weaknesses and weak spots(players ala the oklahoma db's)

There is nobody in the buisness better at making offensive adjustments or mixing up their play calling... I bet Chow is a hell of a chess player.

Southern Cal's defense is very good, but Norm Chow's presence does just as much to disrupt their opponents' offense. Chow's prolific offense forces opponents (especially ones without a good defense of their own to lean on) to be more aggressive and take more risks. This can lead to mistakes, a loss or rhythm, and turnovers. I think Chow's (and Bush, Leinart, et. al) presence causes opposing offenses to shift away from their normal gameplan, and when that happens the batlle is already half-won for SC. Also, because the SC offense stays on the field, the defense is always fresh. Finally when the SC offense jumps out to a comfortable lead, this allows the defense to pin its ears back and really overplay and create havoc.
