Not Recognizing Hardware

I have a little MP3 player, it's maybe a year old, it's one I use for outside running and hiking. Lately my computer doesn't recognize it when I plug it in. It connects, charges, I can add/delete songs but when I want to disconnect it the safely remove hardware icon is nowhere to be found and when I bring it up manually it doesn't show anything being plugged in. Is there a solution for this?

Sounds like you need to reload your MP3 player's software. It's not uncommon for programs to get corrupted after time. Causes can be any number of things.
