DT Tywone Malone (Official thread)

In an interview with Rivals' Adam Friedman, Malone explained why the Buckeyes were left off the list:

On why Ohio State, a perceived favorite, didn't make the cut: "The big key was the baseball part of things," he said. "I really haven't been talking to Ohio State's baseball program as much as these other schools. Coach Day, coach Johnson, and I were calling and texting a lot and that's what I really liked about Ohio State but, like I said, baseball is a big thing in my recruitment and that was making it tough.

Top 6 list now includes no current elite schools. This guy has his pick of any school in the country. It always puzzles me when a kid who can make 10's of millions of dollars in football turns down the best coaching staffs/ facilities/ weight training/ nutritionists in order to pursue a hobby sport. Not to mention training every day against the best like you do at the elite schools. I get it when they want to play for the local team, or have a great relationship with the coaches, or something like that, but to pursue a hobby? It's like turning down a top law school because you didn't get into the marching band.

I'm just happy we won't be playing any of the teams in his list in a meaningful game in the next 4 years.
