NC TE Benji Gosnell (Buckeye Decommit; Virginia Tech Verbal)

Football season in the state of North Carolina was postponed from the fall to the spring. That season started this past weekend and for Ohio State tight end commitment Benji Gosnell, the wait certainly didn’t result in a slow start.

Gosnell was outstanding on both sides of the ball in the first football game of his junior season. He played tight end, fullback and lined up wide at receiver at times while also playing linebacker on defense. Gosnell caught two passes for 32 yards and a touchdown while also making nine tackles including two for loss on the other side of the ball as Pilot Mountain (N.C.) East Surry defeated Lexington (N.C.) North Davidson 12-9.

I know everyone complains about how often we throw to the TE (including me lol) but are there stats that show often we throw to the TE relative to the rest college football? It seems like 90% of teams don't really feature the TE

I would agree with you. But I certainly don't think we needed 2 TEs in the 2022 class. And with the Gee Scott switch of positions, the position is now too deep for how we utilize the position. Another OL(more specifically an OT) is very much so needed in this class.
