Mike Conley (6’1”-PG-87, graduated ’07, plays in the NBA) could not help the Memphis Grizzlies (18-16) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the Memphis Grizzlies (18-16) were edged 102-99 on the road by the Sacramento Kings. Conley was the top scorer with 23 points. He also added 7 rebounds and dished 5 assists. It’s Conley’s 12th season with the team. Conley has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 20.3ppg, 3.4rpg, 6.5apg and 1.2spg.

D’Angelo Russell (6’5”-SG-96, graduated ’15, plays pro in the NBA) contributed to a Brooklyn Nets‘ victory against the Phoenix Suns 111-103 in the NBA last Sunday. He scored 18 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 8 assists in 31 minutes. Russell has very impressive stats this year 17.5ppg, 3.8rpg, 6.2apg and 1.2spg in 36 games.

Evan Turner (6’7”-G/F) Portland Trail Blazers – averages just under eight points and 25 minutes a game for the 20-15 Trailblazers. He scored a season-high 17 points in a loss to the Clippers Nov. 25.

Kostas Koufos (7’0”-C) Sacramento Kings – averages just under four points and a little more than five rebounds a game for the Kings. His high point total this season, his 10th in the NBA, is an 11-point effort in a 122-105 win over Phoenix Dec. 4.

Aaron Craft (6’2”-PG-91, graduated ’14, plays pro in Italy) led Dolomiti En. TR to a victory over the league outsider Pistoia Basket (3-9) 78-70 in the Italian Serie A last Wednesday. He was MVP of the game. Craft scored 22 points, had 5 boards, dished 7 assists and stole 3 balls. Dolomiti Energia Trento (5-7) is placed ninth in the Serie A. It’s Craft’s first season with the team. This year he averages 9.6ppg, 4.1rpg, 5.4apg and 2.3spg.

Othello Hunter (6’8”-C-86, graduated ’08, plays pro in Russia) led his Russian team CSKA to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Anadolu Efes (10-5) 102-84 in the Euroleague last Thursday. He scored 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. CSKA Moscow (10-4) is placed third in the Euroleague. Hunter’s team will play only one more game in the Euroleague Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Hunter averages 8.6ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.1apg in 14 games he played so far. He is a naturalized Liberian.

DeShaun Thomas (6’7”-PF-91, graduated ’13, currently in Greece) led Panathinaikos to an easy victory against the fifth-ranked AEK (7-3) crushing them 111-79 in a derby game in the Greek A1 in Sunday night’s game. Thomas recorded 12 points and added 3 passes in a mere 18 minutes. Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens (9-0) is placed first in the A1. So far his team won all nine games in the Regular Season. It’s Thomas’ first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 11.9ppg and 3.9rpg in eight games.

Amedeo Della Valle (6’4”-SG-93, graduated ’14, plays in Italy) was the major contributor in an AX Armani Exchange Milano‘s victory against the closely-ranked Openjobmetis VA (8-4) 72-67 in the Italian Serie A on Sunday night. He scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 19 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. AX Armani Exchange Milano (12-0) is placed first in the Serie A. So far his team won all twelve games in the Regular Season. This year Della Valle averages 8.3ppg and 1.6rpg in 10 games.

Evan Ravenel (6’9”-C/F-89, graduated ’13, currently in Japan) was the main contributor in Fukushima‘s victory against the sixth-ranked Aomori Watts 81-66 in the Japanese B2 League in Saturday night’s game. Amir Williams (6’11”-C-92, graduated ’15, plays in Uruguay) was not able to help one of league’s weakest teams Hebraica (1-8) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance Hebraica was defeated 92-83 in a derby game by the second-ranked Olimpia. Williams scored 15 points, had 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Williams has relatively good stats this season 10.3ppg and 5.7rpg.

Zisis Sarikopoulos (7’0”-C-90, graduated ’10, currently in Belarus), who plays in Belarus was not able to secure a victory for Tsmoki-Minsk (2-8) in their last game. Despite Sarikopoulos’ very good performance Tsmoki-Minsk was badly defeated 88-69 in Kazan by the much higher-ranked (#3) Unics. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds. Sarikopoulos also added 3 blocks in 30 minutes. This year Sarikopoulos averages 9.0ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1bpg in 10 games.

Ohio State players in the NBA this season included:

* Utah Jazz point guard Mike Conley, wrapping his 14th season as a pro;

* Minnesota Timberwolves point guard D’Angelo Russell, completing his sixth season in the league;

* San Antonio Spurs small forward Keita Bates-Diop, finishing his third year; and

* Houston Rockets small forward JaeSean Tate, who was in his rookie year after spending two seasons playing overseas.
