It’s been a bumpy road for the Buckeye, but he showed loads of potential during the 2016 season.

He may not have heard his name called during the 2018 NFL Draft, but Ohio State DT Michael Hill will still get a shot at an NFL career. The Detroit Lions signed the Buckeye as an undrafted free agent, and Hill will now head to rookie camp.

The 6’3, 305-pound Buckeye got to Columbus in 2013, but didn’t see his first taste of action until the team’s 2014 championship season, when he played in five games. He finished his Ohio State career with 37 total tackles (5.5 for loss) and two sacks, in 42 games and 15 starts.

He was a full-time starter in 2016, recording 21 of his 37 tackles, and was Honorable mention All-Big Ten by the coaches and media. “How much playing time? We’ll see,” Schiano said, when Hill was reinstated. “That will all play out with however [defensive line coach Larry Johnson] plans to use him. But he’s an experienced guy who has played really good football for us over time.”

Congrats to Michael Hill for getting another opportunity to extend his football playing career.
