espn doesn't hate anybody, much less tOSU

This is the myth perpetuated because of the MC bit. The fact is that ESPN chases ratings, and negative stories mean ratings. tOSU, even if they were at no fault or limited fault, was surrounded by issues for a long time. ESPN made the most of those opportunities just like they make the most of opportunities to show our fall practices on their networks, and our games on their networks. ESPN just loves money (who doesn't). I'm not saying that their journalism is top notch, but their game plan for ratings sure is.:oh: :io:

There is no sense in dragging this all out into the open again but your post requires a response, matcar.

We agree. ESPN's behavior was motivated by ratings and profits.

They however engaged in a premeditated attack on Ohio State. Presented with the evidence that their was no evidence that their allegations were true, they knowingly continued to report the allegations as if Ohio State had not been cleared by the NCAA. When a second NCAA also showed that their allegations were not true, they clung to the Troy Smith acceptance of $500 as if that had been their allegation.

Even as recently as a month ago, they were allowing that ass#$%e Tom Friend to make allegations that Clarett's difficulties remain the responsibility of Ohio State and that Ohio State must somehow provide him with financial support and other assistance. It is truly amazing.

It was premeditated. It was disgusting. It ruined the lives of a lot of good people, especially Andy Geiger. It was hateful.

And, it is not forgotten. :osu:

Oh, I can see it's not forgotten, but your scarlet colored glasses prevent you from seeing the truth that ESPN has no ax to grind with tOSU. They don't "hate" anyone, in spite of any viewpoints to the contrary. Poor reporting is not the same thing as dislike. And it didn't ruin anyone's life, least of all Andy Geiger, who is no doubt quite a happy man, in spite of all the unnecessary difficulty he encountered. Ruined lives????? Please man, get a grip. It made things very difficult for a number of people at tOSU, but nobody's life was ruined, with the exception of MC's. And if you blame ESPN for MCs problems, then you are completely beyond reason. MC made his own bed, made his own choices, had plenty of opportunities to change his ways, and chose not to. His was the only life that could be considered ruined, and he did it to himself. Posts like yours are the ones that need to be addressed so that people can come back to reality.

Name one other university that has been at/near the forefront of ESPN wrath for such a sustained period of time.

We're waiting...

Not relevant.

What motive would they have for "hating" tOSU? No good one of course.

It is entirely relevent.

Whether or not they have a good motive or not for "hating" OSU doesn't change the fact that they were on our ass for three years, and continue to trumpet any shortcoming of the program they can find.

They were on our ass for 3 years because there was smoke...and in some cases, fire. That's the ONLY thing that's relevant OTHER than motive. There is simply no legitimate arguement here but we tOSU fans can't see through the fog because of our own dislike (which borders on hatred much more so than ESPN).
