So I guess I haven't followed how OSU handles the NIL deal all that closely, but I surmise the coaches will not guarantee any deals? If so, I would still imagine they would showcase the NIL deals our players get and who they got the deal from as a nudge-nudge of where you could get a good NIL deal? Or maybe the players with the deals show them the ropes? I mean, it is no secret a bunch of our players have what appear to be lucrative deals, no point in masking it now that it is legal, although I do appreciate that the coaches are not guaranteeing it up front (or at least that appears the case).

In any event, I guess get Samson on campus and see what happens. If the coaches' approach is to not guarantee NIL money upfront, no reason to change that for one recruit unless they are going to do it for all/most of them even if is is tempting given Samson's talent and the perceived need at OT. Throw the kitchen sink at landing him without sacrificing standards. May not be a popular opinion but that is my take.

Bestbuck36 Kyle Young/Cade Stover man crush. Stomp!

Not for me thats my take too. Earn something before you get paid for it. This entire entitlement era has run it's course with me. IF they don't want the chance to Beat michigan, then we don't want them!

I think the coaches can show what deals he could get. And what’s the amount that he could get. Where they can differentiate themselves, is by showing him what OSU OL have made in the NFL, and also showing him what options he can have if football doesn’t work for him down the road. They can introduce him to numerous execs of Fortune 500 company’s that are in Columbus as well.
And then collectives can meet with Samson on the side and show how much they can offer him.

A full house and the loudest crowd he has ever heard will also capture his attention. Seeing the camaraderie in the locker room and the National Championship banners throughout the stadium should also help. NIL
is there if he is not afraid to earn it on the field.

Yeah I think the Wexner pull has to be real. Have to think he's at least talking to the folks with the purse. I'm not too worried though, our coaches have the recruiting game locked down.

Visit is still up in the air, per Birm. Kid may even end up going to visit USC instead.

If his decision is that heavily dependent on up-front cash, I have concerns about the culture fit. Feels like an A&M or Miami type recruit

Hence why Miami is the favored destination. OSU will be fine with or without him. And you’re correct, doesn’t seem like a culture fit, but definitely is a talent fit which keeps coaches pursuing him

  9. Exactly. If that's what a kid is going to weigh the most in his recruitment do we really want them?

AM showed this year that the upfront stuff doesn't do much good.

I think i saw the staff wouldn't want him to come if he's not seriously considering us. No time for that. Game is too important.

Exactly! This game is too big to feed into egos of players who have no intention of being Buckeyes. Go elsewhere and get your :cash:, OSU is in a great spot regardless. And I’ve heard that they really like Walker as well
