LSU Baseball (official thread)

Bryce Jordan forgoing his Senior year and giving up on baseball.

knee injury that causes him to miss all ‘16 apparently still isn’t “right” so he walking away.

hate to see this.
kid absolutely loves LSU and always played with a fire and passion that seemed to carry over to everyone else.

i think he and LSU both knew it at the end of last season. They let him participate in Senior day with his twin brother Beau. even though due to his injury redshirt he was technically only a junior.

welp, opening day is a week and a half out.

LSU is #1 or #2 in pretty much every poll and i really like our chances for a really good season.

unfortunately, that’s also the day of my Angioplasty, so not looking forward to it as much as normal. and there is zero chance of me making it to the game.

Angioplasty. Ugh. Godspeed, my friend.

Please tell me the doctor didn't tell you to cut down on Cajun food. That would be really unnecessary punishment. Well, maybe necessary. But punishment!

yep.

i had a heart attack at beginning of January. had 100% blockage in main left artery and may not have made it through the night if i hadn’t gone to hospital. had an emergency angioplasty that evening to clear that one up.
have two more blockages (80% & 60%) that they’re opening with this one.

and a complete lifestyle change to go with it.

no more smoking.
cut (way) down on my drinking
and i have to eat healthy. nothing fried, red meat only sparingly, cut down on salt intake etc.

came as a huge surprise. i just turned 40 in October, and i’m not even close to being overweight. always been in pretty good athletic shape.

but i was a smoker and a drinker, did NOT eat healthy, and my family has history of heart problems.

so this will be my first LSU sporting event (that i religiously follow) with no cigarettes, no alcohol, no traditional stadium type foods.
not sure how well i’ll handle that.

My brother-in-law had a heart attack back in mid-December. Came as a surprise as well. He is carrying a little extra weight but his blood pressure and cholesterol were excellent. His cardiologists don't really have an answer as to why he had one to begin with. He was also very active. Very odd to say the least.

All the best with your recovery.
