LB Arvell Reese (National Champion)

Such a wild thing to complain about.

Reese is playing his responsibility in a team defense so he isn’t in on every tackle. Plus the other guys are doing their jobs before he can get there.

I’m perfectly content with him only making one tackle per game if they continue to hold the opponent to 160 yards of offense.

Sure beats the hell out of watching Ryan Shazier make 15 tackles while the team gives up 30 points.

And several of those tackles while playing with a limp, if I recall correctly.

I wasn’t complaining just asking if he had a nagging injury that Patricia was hiding in the short zones. Reese if healthy is a heat seeking weapon.

I was just confused because I specifically recall him being around the ball near or behind the LOS several times.

I don’t think there is anything to be concerned about. Quite frankly with a QB like Mendoza who isn’t much of a runner - I definitely expect a couple fuckery blitzes from Matt and we will see a sexy flash play or two.

Yea I watched he was playing zone not blitzing or playing on the LOS . He rallied to the football but he’s capable of more. Is he hurt? He’s the best in college football capable of filling the stat sheet. But by scheme they weren’t featuring him. Is he hurt? MP I think would say he’s a little banged up.

Yea I watched he was playing zone not blitzing or playing on the LOS . He rallied to the football but he’s capable of more. Is he hurt? He’s the best in college football capable of filling the stat sheet. But by scheme they weren’t featuring him. Is he hurt? MP I think would say he’s a little banged up.

It looked like he shadowed Underwood on passing downs similarly to Williams from Washington. Smart not to blitz him when Underwood running was the only way to create a spark something after the first quarter.

Not sure about Saturday, but teams have been working to go around him or to the other side of the field since PSU. He’s such a good spy that it boxes QBs in and limits scrambles.

Arvell was a stud against Michigan.....he played a similar role against Washington, but Demond Williams tested Arvell too much. Underwood didn't attempt to beat Arvell when the spy was on.

As stated before, he had a really nice TFL on an end-around as well.

This creates a separate convo though which is that sometimes the guys asked to "mush-rush" or play contain, don't get to put up big numbers. Caden Curry has benefitted the most IMO. Kenyatta has been asked to control rush most of year while Arvell or Sonny often play spy, which causes QB to hold ball to long, which allows Curry who doesn't fit the assignment well as a "spy" gets to rush the QB and create chaos.

It's crazy, but Michigan ONLY had 44 offensive snaps on the day. That's wild. It's hard for any player to make a massive statement when the offense has so few plays.
