As someone with limited QB experience at a HS level…..I’ll say with some level of confidence…..Arvell was Underwood’s first read. Depending on where he lined up, and if he came in blitz, Underwood was reading Arvell #1….

Cody Simon was really good and had the experience factor.
Cody is also now starting for the Cardinals in NFL. It’s really that simple…..Arvell showed flashes when he got in last year, but I don’t think anyone could’ve projected this type of production from him. He’s a freak.

I think they’re going to turn him loose. I think it’s more important to get quick heat on Mendoza than it his been on the other QBs we’ve played, who we’ve largely just sought to contain and force to throw since they couldn’t make in time throws into tight windows. If we get more exotic with the pass rush, Downs and McClain are going to need to be on point as IU seems to get a lot of big plays off of short passes and quick hitting runs.

One tackle against Michigan. He didn’t credit for TFL in box score I saw. He basically played zone coverage the whole game.

Such a wild thing to complain about.
Reese is playing his responsibility in a team defense so he isn’t in on every tackle. Plus the other guys are doing their jobs before he can get there.
I’m perfectly content with him only making one tackle per game if they continue to hold the opponent to 160 yards of offense.
Sure beats the hell out of watching Ryan Shazier make 15 tackles while the team gives up 30 points.
