Tackett Curtis (LB Southern Cal, transfer to Wisconsin)

Camps is the primary reason.

He also isn’t playing at the big school level.

I want this kid badly but would be remiss if I don’t have a small concern about how his style translates to the next level.

He lines up 9 yards behind the los and screams downhill where he disfigures an undersized TB.

Again I want Tackett badly. His hudl tape is all-timer.

Same division as Arch Manning. In fact, I think they open the season against each other.

You are correct that they are in the same division, but they don't open, its more like the 4th game. But @cdiddy70 is correct about them also playing in a small LA Division. I can't wait to see how Curtis can adapt to the college game coming from such a small division, and IDK of him playing against much top competition.

Reminds me of that kid who played LB, from Texas, who was a "hidden gem" and who came to OSU but left a year later because of being home sick. He also played at a small Christian school in a small division.

We have to trust Knowles on this. Plus, all the big players have offered.

Was that LB from Texas the same one who had a brother who played BB for tOSU? LB left after one year (Mike Mitchell?), and his brother left year later, and bounced to couple of schools before fading away....anyway, if Knowles likes someone that much, go get him. Hopefully his judgement is worth the $1.9 mil he's getting paid....

That kid was far from a hidden gem. He did go to a small school in Plano, TX, but he was a 5star who ran a 4.4 or 4.3 40 and instantly blew up after that camp! Mike Mitchell, he and his brother flamed out after leaving OSU.

Hopefully we have better luck with Curtis, and he turns into an All American and 1st round pick

Tackett's film actually was uncannily similar to Mike "The Abusement Park" Mitchell in HS, great comparison. I was wracking my brain for a comparison. Tackett doesn't have the same size or camp numbers to get the same hype I think. I'll take him all day to Sunday, he would bring another element to the defense and I think is the exact piece Knowles would consider his crown jewel of this class.

Agree with everything, except I think the crown jewel of the defense would without a doubt be getting Uiegaleilei(sp) and/or Downs. Then I'd have Curtis, imo

Since tOSU got a solid 5* and 4* LBers in last recruiting class, plus the bits and pieces already on board, doesn't seem like Curtis is a true 'need'. However, if our $1.9mm man feels this is the guy to run his D, then defer to his wont, as they say. Day has his hand firmly on the QB, but he seems to let his position coaches make their own picks. (Who knows what really happens behind the Woody's closed doors). But tis true that coaches like 'their' people in places of importance. Cannot wait for ND because: 1) we'll see the 2022 O unleashed; 2) we'll see the revamped D that likely kept tOSU from BCS-dom last year. Hope we score at a quick clip, will give us more time to scrutinize the new-look D.

Is anyone else (other than me), somewhat befuddled that LSU isn't all over this guy? Not certain if he even has a homestate offer. It's not like LA is a large state with many huge HSs.....or (probably) is stuff happening behind the scenes that we/I am not aware is going on,......Go Bucks!

The rumor is that Kelly when he was the HC may have pissed off Tackett or his family. And he never considered LSU after that
