Kevin (Tim “Asshat” Racadb) Warren (ex-B1G Commissioner)

Of fucking course.

Alas, Penn State is too busy curing cancer.

Even though I’m now believing that they’re going to announce an October return sometime today, I’m already dreading listening to the press conference and/or the forthcoming Q&A with this commish. Once again, when a 30-second answer will suffice, I’m quite sure he will drone on for several minutes, repeating himself. Sucking the air out of the room in what should be an upbeat occasion.

I’m not working again today. But if I start a drinking game for every time Warren says ‘health and safety of our student-athletes’, I’ll be hammered into oblivion before the press conference ends.

For once, Mr. Commish, just try briefly answering the questions and then shutting up so they can ask another question.

Glad it’s back, etc. But a few major issues this clown faces. This was in the name of “player safety” but his league will now cram 8 games into 8 straight weeks with no byes. Guess we forgot about that.

Will other fall sports get to play? Just football?

Between those topics plus likely putting the football players in some kind of isolated/bubble environment to get this done, amateurism is dead. And hopefully his stint as commissioner goes with it.

Breaking news on BTN Ticker:

“.. voted unanimously to resume the football season the weekend of October 23/24, 2020”

That allows 8 games, no byes, and a CCG on 12/19, if that’s the plan.

Why couldn't they get to a Oct 17th start date? The teams have been doing workouts and light practicing, and we're a month out. It seems they also knew yesterday what the decision was so likely are already ramping up their workouts/practices starting today. Give yourself a week for bye weeks/one postponement and a little cushion, but now everyone has to play 8 or 9 weeks straight. Still managing to screw this up. He needs to have a really damn good press performance after this.

I’m rather optimistic, but I think having games tomorrow would be tough.

Maybe need a Big Ten Season thread now? So I don’t have to keep seeing this guy’s name.

Ohio State, comparatively, can handle the opt outs and a possible 21 day pause on players (at least in conference). Not sure others can. Bucks have a very clear shot to get where they want...if the team and season stay healthy.

Warren should simply play emcee and introduce those speaking. No commentary, no jokes, just intros.
