Pickerington (OH) North HS

Height: 6-foot-6
Weight: 220 lbs

Jake is a very young sophomore, born in July 1995. As a sophomore, Jake had a breakout year and was a menace in opponents backfield, leading the team in sacks and TFL. He can easily add another 40-50 pounds to his young, lean frame without sacrificing quickness. He also plays varsity basketball and played travel soccer for 6 years which developed his footwork and quickness. He's an honor student interested in Medical School or Engineering. He's already getting looks from Big Ten and MAC schools.

Ohio native Jake Butt considering Michigan
September, 12, 2011
By Jared Shanker

Jake Butt doesn't hide the fact that he's a huge Ohio State fan. The junior linebacker at Pickerington North grew up just 30 minutes from Ohio Stadium and plans to attend a few games this year after already going to the Buckeyes' season-opening win.

That doesn't mean one of Ohio's top Class of 2013 prospects is already a Buckeye lean, though. In fact, Butt (6-foot-6, 225 pounds) spent this past weekend in Ann Arbor visiting Michigan for its game against Notre Dame.

It was the first night game in Michigan Stadium history and is already the early favorite for game of the rear for 2011. All 114,804 fans -- a record for any college football game ever -- left the Big House speechless after the back-and-forth final quarter, Butt included.

"If I can only describe it in one word it would be 'wow,'" Butt said. "It was crazy. That's the loudest stadium I've ever heard. I couldn't even have a conversation with my dad next to me."
