Jahsen Wint and Amir Riep FOUND NOT GUILTY

"well, what evidence do you have that it wasn't rape?"
"umm.. she clicked on this App."

"OH.. OK, then. Case closed."

Gimme a break.

In rape cases there is usually very little evidence which is why the rate of conviction to accusation is so low. My only point was having video evidence of consent has to make the case more difficult to prosecute. I'm not saying they are innocent or guilty, it was just an observation. Thankfully you aren't on their jury.

There are no winners in cases like these. The athletes are either guilty and headed to prison and a young woman was raped. The reputation of the young woman is dragged through the dirt by idiot fans who only care that a couple players from their favorite team are put in jail. The woman’s family is traumatized. The victim is traumatized. The player’s families lose their sons to prison.

Or the players are innocent but they never escape the arrest. Their reputations will forever be followed by this incident. Women lose more motivation to come forward with actual rape accusations and lose more credibility from those who are supposed to listen. It turns in to “oh look, another woman accusing a football player of rape.”

Everything about this is just sad and the truth is, there isn’t really any other way for these cases to go. That’s the reality. It’s just losers all around.

Alternatively the video could make them look much worse if the girl is crying on the video and Riep is badgering her to say it was consensual

"The victim began to have consensual sex with Riep before she stopped and moved away from him, telling him that she “did not want to continue,” per the summary statement of facts in a Franklin County Municipal Court affidavit in support of probable cause"

I guess this is the part it will get tricky. The victim seems to have admitted it began as consensual sex. Riep is going to claim that he never heard her say "she didn't want to continue".

How many innocent people film someone stating that the sex was consensual AFTER the incident? Unless Riep makes a habit of that, that's extremely suspicious.

Precisely. It’d be impossible to get her to say “it was consensual!” in a normal clear eyed voice, if it wasn’t. And anyone in the background telling her to say that makes it extremely questionable. My only question is why say it at all? You’d get a hearty “fuck you” on tape before I left unless you’re trying to take it even further. But it would all be on tape. Threats, forcing me to say it, whatever, it’s getting on tape. You wanna take this thing further and threaten me, you better be willing to go all the way and take that murder charge because fuck you.
