Jahsen Wint and Amir Riep FOUND NOT GUILTY

As an attorney, I'll say "innocent until proven guilty" ... but that's strictly a legal matter for a court to decide. Football coaches shouldn't have to deal with shit like that. Good move for Day to cut them both loose.
I honestly don’t understand why the NCAA does not have defined rules around what happens to players in any governed sport when they are charged with a crime. This shouldn’t be on the coaches and there shouldn’t be any differences for any player at any institution.

A couple of things:

1. Whether it's Day himself or the OSU legal/PR people finally getting their shit together, the quoted action and statement below is perfect because: (a) Day handles the football program action side only by himself and as the face of the program; (2) He makes it clear that he's not prejudging criminal guilt but that he (and by implication the program) has higher standards than that; (3) He expresses concern for the accused former players, who were part of "the brotherhood" until yesterday after all, by indicating that they won't be immediately cut off from OSU-provided health and well-being assistance, and (4) Without being at all defensive, he gives an unassailable reason for not saying anything else, says that he's not going to say anything else and, in fact doesn't say anything else. Now OSU just needs to make sure that neither Gene nor Urban are allowed within a hundred miles of a microphone for a while ...

"I have dismissed Amir Riep and Jahsen Wint from our football program,” Ryan Day said in a statement. “I am not making any statement on the criminal charges, but it is clear they did not live up to our standards and my expectations. The athletics department will make sure they both continue to have access to the health and well-being resources available to students and student-athletes. Due to the ongoing criminal investigation, I will not be commenting further.”

2. I assume that both of the accused former players remain students at OSU and eligible for classes unless and until a formal process, which I assume is clearly defined and allows them to be represented by counsel or someone else, determines that they don't have that privilege anymore. Online classes only should be looking like a pretty good option for them both.

I couldn’t agree more regarding the statement about the PR getting its shit in a pile. I wonder if they outsourced this work. Not joking.

My sympathy goes out to the young woman. She’s the victim who will indeed struggle to get past this for the rest of her life. My prayers go out to her and her family. I hold no sympathy for the players. That said, and whether this is a popular view or not, I’m pulling for the young men to get rehabilitation. I get all the “there’s no coming back from this” and the “they should rot” sentiments. That’s understandable. But I sincerely hope they find a way in prison to give back and spend every day of the rest of their lives being a better human being. It’s never too late and I hope others feel the same as time passes.

It hasn't been explained why she suddenly felt uncomfortable with the consensual sex. No context has been given as to why the timing is so coincidental that she stopped sex with Amir, and at that exact moment JaShen came into room to ask if he could join. I wouldn't say weird timing, but marginally coincidental.
What possible answers to these questions leads to exoneration?

Yes. According to law, as well as the Ohio State conduct code, consent can be withdrawn at any time. If she was down with banging shithead A, but rescinded consent when shithead B entered the room, everything that followed is rape as far as both the state of Ohio and The Ohio State are concerned.
