Who would have thought it would be harder to make it to the B1G championship game than the playoff? Already with 2 top 5 games and it will probably take 2 more just to win the B1G.
Ultimately missing the CG could be better if you are in the playoffs without playing

Lots of factors to see but there’s some scenarios where it’s better to miss it than make it

Yeah as long as we beat TCUN the following week we’d still be looking at a first round home game if we were to somehow lose this game. Which the way they’re just wrecking teams is a very decent chance.

Would get a week off to recover as well either way. Of course I hope we win out to win the big ten and then get that first round BYE though. Would be very cool watching the first round games knowing you’re healing up.

Hopefully we can get to Indy for another crack at Oregon.

Totally agree with your primary point. If there are no upsets, there will be three 1-loss teams whose only loss is to Ohio State. That's a pretty incredible resume.

Minor point... It will take 2 more top 10 games to win the B1G. Most of the teams ranked ahead of Indiana have already played their toughest games. Some upsets will happen, sure; but it would take a 2007-like November for Indiana to get to the top 5.

If Indy can curb stop TSUN they will be closer to 5 than 10 in 3 weeks. If they are still undefeated when we play I'd give it 50-50 that they make it to 5 just so the networks can pump up another top 5 game for the ratings. Georgia and Tennessee play in 2 weeks. A win over TSUN might be enough to bump them over Penn St. They would only need to jump Texas to get to 5 unless GA loses to Ole Miss and beats Tennessee.

Don't really care what happens to anyone else as long as we just keep winning.

Big fan of whay the Hoosiers are doing this year, but they have yet to play a team from the top half of the B1G. They only play two such teams, and if they beat Midhigan (they have my vote) even with a loss to OSU they are pretty much guaranteed a spot in the playoff.

If we are going to go with 18 team divisions there is an argument to be made for a 4 team conference playoff. And that's just absurd.

On the other hand, of the 4 teams who have separated themselves from the pack, Oregon plays one, Indiana plays one, and PSU plays one. In all three cases we are that one. We need to look at some sort of weighted scheduling like they do in the NFL.

And on another slight tangent, Miami went into a home game with an undefeated record against a 6-2 Duke. It would be generous to suggest the stadium was half full. Bloomington will be shaking the ground all the way to Florida on Saturday. Can't wait to see that atmosphere.

Fuck 'em up Saturday IU!!!

Define "curb-stomp".

I'm not sure a top-10 team beating an unranked team by 4 touchdowns is going to move them up 3-5 spots, unless 3-5 teams in front of them lose, which is entirely possible here in 2007 2024.
Uh, if they beat them "by 4 touchdowns" that will be better than what the #1 team in the country did to them just two days ago. So, yeah, if Indiana beats Michigan by 20+ points they WILL move up into the top 5...
