So you are saying Stud knew they weren't great and cooled on them? If he didn't want them, why were they on top of the board with OSU supposedly in the lead for many months?
The point is about the moment of recruiting, not what some have become after the fact (even if I bought into your assessment of them, which I do not.)
OSU was the supposed leader for all of the guys I mentioned except Leigh at some point or another. That come from ahead loss trend is part of the conversation.
No one put a number on how many 5 stars per class and, again, OT vs Interior OL. No one said he hasn't done a great job with guards and centers.
This sounds like one of the conversations back in the day where people were trying to tell me I shouldn't be concerned about Tressel's offense because OSu won another heart attack game 17-10. Just like I said back then, don't confuse results with approach. The two things are not mutually exclusive, you can be good at both.
Stud's OT recruiting has had more misses than wins recently and, imo, counting on continued development of the fall back guys isn't an optimal strategy. This is Ohio State. Recruit like the rest of the coaches on staff do and go get your fair share of the top targets at all the positions you are responsible for, not just 60% of them.
