No, he's not related to Josh, but Kadyn Proctor does have a bit of mean streak to him just like the Buckeye safety who's been known to lay down some big hits.

The younger Proctor is a 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive tackle out of the same high school in Des Moines, Iowa (Southeast Polk) where the Buckeyes have gone to recruit high-priority 2022 safety target Xavier Nwankpa. Proctor says that's how he originally got on their radar.

“Coach (Matt) Barnes gave me the offer, and it was crazy for sure,” Proctor told Eleven Warriors. “I would most definitely play OT in college, and they said they liked how I moved at such a big frame. My teammate, Xavier, is a big target for them and they also looked at me too.”

Kadyn Proctor growing his game, relationships ahead of pivotal summer recruiting stretch

Kadyn Proctor may end up being the highest-ranked college football prospect to ever come from the state of Iowa. He’s not worried about that right now.
.
.
.
His college decision is going to be a big deal and he knows that. The people in his home state make sure he does, trying to convince him that staying home and playing for the Hawkeyes, or the Cyclones, is all he needs to do. It’s not likely to be that easy for Kadyn Proctor. It rarely is for the truly elite football prospects. He’s going to have his pick of any school in the country so now he’s just in fact-finding mode.

Kadyn Proctor Checks Out Iowa Football

"My first time in Kinnick and seeing the inside of the stadium was amazing," Proctor told HN. "I also got to experience it with my mom, trainer, teammates, and their families. It is a stunning stadium to see. I also loved the fan base they had even for just a practice."
.
.
.
Before his recruitment went national, Iowa began building a relationship with Proctor. He's not forgotten that.

"The Hawkeyes have been with me early. I respect them a lot and love that they are still here for me," he said.
.
.
.
Family and friends play an important role in Proctor's life. He sees that translating to what he seeks for the next level.

Just sayin': Hopefully he really wants to play for championships and when all is said and done is willing to leave Iowa.

From Iowa and teammate was Xavier Nwankpa...always seemed like a forgone conclusion. From what I gathered he never really got a good connection with Stud and although Frye tried when he came in, seems a little too late. Most said it was an Iowa/tOSU battle but in the end I bet he stays home.

Hawkeyes keep five-star OT Kadyn Proctor in Iowa for huge in-state football recruiting win

Five-star offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor announced his commitment to Iowa football Thursday in a huge in-state recruiting win for the Hawkeyes.

Proctor is the No. 6 prospect overall in the 2023 class and had a top-two list of Iowa and Alabama. It's not often that those two schools battle for the same recruits, but Kirk Ferentz and his staff were able to keep Proctor home.

While Proctor is the highest-ranked recruit in the state, Iowa has done well with ESPN 300 in-state recruits over the past few classes. Safety Xavier Nwankpa was an ESPN 300 recruit in the 2022 class targeted by nearly every major program in the country.

Notre Dame and Ohio State were both in on his recruitment, but he chose the Hawkeyes. Proctor and Nwankpa happen to be high school teammates, and now they are future college teammates.
