How do you take your steak?

Medium rare for me. Not a huge steak person (maybe because of my Hindu roots.. :tongue2: ), so too much redness or blood will annoy me

Depends on the cut. The less fat, the less well done I want it. I'll do a filet very rare or rare at the most, a strip (my personal favorite) rare to rare+, and a ribeye medium rare.

I always order "Medium Well" when I'm at a non-steak-specialty place because I figure I have a better chance of getting a medium then. When at a real steakhouse, I just order medium.

I grilled a t-bone for dinner last night, and it was awesome. Medium-rare is the only to go. If you don't have pink in the middle of your steak, you are missing 85% of the flavor.

When I was younger, I liked medium well.

Now I rarely order steak, but choose medium or medium rare, depending on the cut.

If I'm cooking it myself I make it well done. If I'm in a restaurant I'll get it medium just so everybody who's with me doesn't have to wait forever to get their food because they're back there burning the shit out of my steak. There are a few places down here where the chef will refuse to cook steaks well done because it ruins the flavor.

I used to preferred charred beyond repair, but medium works well these days.
