Day drinking confirmed.

Ryan Day isn't John Cooper. If anything he's Roy McAvoy. That said, if there's ONE person on the planet right now more keenly aware that losing to scUM isn't acceptable than Ryan Day is right now, I'd be completely at a loss.

can't blame the coachs per say.coachs can only coach .the players need to perform up to there 4 andd 5 star rating they didn't .hell woody lost to tttun 11 times .if can't acccept what happened i'm still pissed about it but i'm over it .deal with it

Being responsible for things you can’t directly control is part of the job for everyone in any kind of leadership position anywhere.

If it happens once, it’s an outlier and you are ok. Happens twice and it’s a trend. Then the person in leadership best be seen as fixing the problem or they are going to be in trouble.

Day was handed the keys to a Lamborghini. He never had a head coaching job before Ohio State, which concerned me from day one.

This isn't a training gig. It's a big job. Is he up for it? Questions remain as long as the best defense he can put out there, given all of the recruiting power of Ohio State, gets bulldozed by any team with a pulse.

He's an offensive guy, and his offenses produce. But being the head coach is about more than offense, and Day had that fact shoved up his ass in Ann Arbor.

What happens going forward will tell us if Ryan Day is up to the challenge of being head coach at Ohio State. I hope he succeeds, but time will tell.

Why doesn't he get credit for 2019? He's the one who hired Hafley. Coombs was considered a good hire at the time. Didn't work out. Maybe see who he hires this off-season first before panicking?

I just have seen zero reason to doubt Day's ability to make adjustments. Every single coach makes bad hires except Saban, I guess. I just think all this consternation is premature

Who recruits those 4 and 5 star players?
Who trains them all year every year?
Who decides to put which players on the field?
Who decides what plays to call to maximize those players abilities?

Coaches control a lot more than you're giving them credit for.

Losing to them is always a bit of an existential crisis imo.
Beating that team is always priority #1.

I doubt you see any coaching changes until after bowl games, officially. I am okay with them taking their time to decide what the coaching staff looks like next year. It’s not as simple as pick the biggest name, throw them a bag, and everything on the defensive side is better.

Funny though how after the MSU game, everyone was praising Day, and this staff for figuring it out.
