Here it is, May and I've not seen or heard squat about the Derby or the Indy 500.

My how the mighty have fallen... and been squeezed out by "winter sports" hockey and basketball.

I miss the hoopla over the Derby and 500, weeks of time trials, a slew of important races in which the best horses seldom met, arguments over Kentucky vs California bred horses, Novi versus Offenhauser.

I wouldn't walk across the street to piss on NASCAR.

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

In all honesty, I couldn't give two shits about "racin", open wheel, stock car, or horses, but yes... I remember when Indy was a huge deal, and now it is non-news.
