WR Kojo Antwi (Official Thread)

Don't care how talented a kid can be, if he looks at all the 4-5* WR cordwood stacked up in tOSU WR room, it would be daunting. Given that maybe, 6 WRs get into the game (?) on a regular basis, where would you go. Age old question, sit on the pine for a contender, or play for a wanna-be. The NFL combine probably does a better job on combing the bushes for recruits than the colleges do, and can pick out a future hall-of-famer from Podunk U pretty well. tOSU has an edge with Hartline, as he 'played the game', as he was in the league for significantly more than just 'a cup of coffee'. And of course, people like Terry McLauren, who was not on the tip of one's tongue while at tOSU, has become an outstanding receiver in the show. I'm too old school to look at the transfer portal as a way to get some great training, and then go somewhere else and showcase your skillset ala Joe Burrows. Go Bucks!

A&M and Georgia are both notorious for offering “comfort and relationship” perks that Ohio State can’t compete with.

It’s really not a great sign for Ohio State that those are the other top schools.

I think that is just the route almost all coaches go in recruiting go now. Clemson is notorious for this as well, yet they had no problem running off Kelly Bryant when Lawrence got hot. OSU also uses comfort and relationships as well, and Hartline's relationships with his WRs is what has him excelling in recruiting and also bringing the best out of guys like Victor, McLaurin, Campbell, Dixon, etc. At this point, I don't even pay attention to WR recruiting, because Hartline has been bringing in top talent. If this kid doesn't want to be a Buckeye, than the next version of Chris Olave(Graves) will more than suffice.

I meant both schools are top of the list when it comes to handing out McDonalds bags, if that is a euphemism that is a little clearer.

I hear you. And I'm just stating, though I'd like this kid, I don't see us getting him. But I have total trust in Hartline and what he's been able to do. And we have more than enough talent to make up for his loss
