If there is a quarterback this offseason that has made a statement to move up in the rankings, it would be Noland since he’s been outstanding at every event. Maybe we just had him too low to begin with because his junior season was also phenomenal with a 73 percent completion percentage for 4,095 yards with 55 touchdowns and four interceptions. Maybe one knock on Noland - and it is out of his control - is that he’s a lefty and I can name on one hand the number of lefty starters over the years in the NFL but if that’s the issue, then there might be no issue at all.

Per a poster on the OSU rivals board:
There is a guy who does a weekly spot on the Bill King show named Kevin Hagan who covers Alabama. He claimed the Bama staff preferred Noland over Sayin and while they wanted both was more than willing to lose Sayin if they could have landed Air.
Birm's reply:
I've heard similar things.

The proof is in the numbers. Noland's numbers don't lie. He is the real deal. They are ridiculous.

Raiola's numbers are suspect. I really don't know much about Sayin.

This whole thing reminds me of that scene from Moneyball when the old scouts are talking about how a guy looks good in a uniform and how the girlfriend looks making them better prospects.

Sure, Raiola probably looks the part, and in camps he can throw a good ball, but comparing the numbers in real games against legit competition, Noland blows Raiola out of the water.

It really isn't even close.

We got the real deal.

We can add Keinholz to that list, but Noland really faced legit competition. It will be interesting.
