WR Carnell Tate (Official Thread)

Tate originally planned to make his college decision last fall, at which point Notre Dame was Ohio State’s top competition to land the 2023 class’ No. 28 overall prospect, but Tate opted to take his recruitment into this summer. That allowed Tennessee and LSU to enter the race for the Chicago native.

“I’m picking Ohio State because I have a great relationship with the coaches that I’ve had since day one,” Tate said. “They’ve been recruiting me since I was a sophomore and I was talking to them for quite a long time. I also believe in Coach Hartline and what he does. He’s capable of developing me into a great receiver.”
Head coach Ryan Day’s offensive mind and the Buckeyes’ NFL development at the position also played big roles in his choice.

“Also with Coach Day calling plays he would put me in the best position to flourish and make plays. I know that he will set me up to be in a great position to go first round of the draft,” Tate said.

Before Tate gave his verbal to Ohio State, the Buckeyes had the eighth-ranked recruiting class nationally. The commitment of Tate boosted them to the No. 2-ranked class this cycle.

I am rethinking allowing expletives in the recruiting forum because of how much this one excites me. I jest on the expletives comment, but do not in terms of how big this one is. Tate is my top WR in this class (1a and 1b for Tate and Innis, but hopefully we get both so it becomes moot) and Hartline just is a force to be reckoned with. If you don't follow Crootin', just rest assured that you are going to hear this kid's name for years to come if he puts in the work, because the talent is off the charts. I will go ahead and bust this one out because it is warranted.

The vitriol by Vol fans is amusing but sad.. total melt down... as unclassy as you'd expect...
This WR class is going to be epic... every QB should want to be throwing to this Zone 6...
The USS Hartline is shining brightly

I forgot UT fans even still existed to be honest, pretty shameful return even using generally applicable Vols fans standards. But yes, our QB/WR room is just downright filthy right now. If you want to be the best at either position, then come to Columbus. Hartline has earned his money and then some, cool thing is you know in his mind he is only getting started. If we somehow bring in Innis to go with Tate...whew. We'll sleep easy seeing JSN and Harrison Jr go in the 1st round with that sort of follow up.
