2023 FL RB Mark Fletcher II (Ohio St. decommit, Miami Signee)

6'1 junior and broad? Possibly the next Adrian Peterson? The future will only tell.

Great get! Reminds me a bit of Carlos Hyde. Big. Great balance. Decent speed and agility. Powerful.

Yeah, I was thinking he could be El Guapo 2.0 too.

How did the Scarlet and Gray close the deal with Fletcher, who also had offers from programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, USC and many others? The answer, it seems is a two-hour sit-down meeting with Ohio State running back coach Tony Alford.

A video began circulating on social media on Saturday from Footballville Nation of Ricky Williams Sr., the CEO and general manager of South Florida Express, Fletcher's 7 on 7 team where he plays with fellow Buckeye commits Brandon Inniss and Carnell Tate. In the video, Williams recounts a meeting he and Fletcher had with Alford during their visit to the Scarlet and Gray recently that apparently was the deciding factor.

I go in the meeting, coach Tony Alford said, "Coach, you want to come in?" I said, "Sure, I'll come in." Bro, they got a big old whiteboard. They got every video clip of Mark Fletcher from ninth grade until his 11th grade year ready for him. Strengths, weaknesses, likes, dislikes. How they can make him a better player, how they can make him a better person, how they can make him a better student-athlete. Bro, me and Mark Fletcher sit in there for two hours, just me, him, coach Alford and coach Alford's assistant. They went over every clip he's ever had of high school. Running, catching, blocking. Bro, I'd never seen that before. Never. They had to love him because they had to go through hours and hours of tape.
