Not at all. I’m saying that Fletcher at Penn State, for example, could be a really good 3 down back. Like how Beanie and Byars was at Ohio State. But Ohio State is currently recruiting at such an all time high that Fletcher could very well be a situational Back. So my response to the other poster was that at those other schools (and I was lazy and didn’t look up their depth charts, I just took the next group after Bama and Ohio State) Fletcher would be an every down Back, ala Beanie and Byars. Never meant that he was anywhere as good.

Fletcher wouldn't be a primary RB at any of those schools. OU and Ped St brought in 2 nationally ranked RBs in '22, and ND got 1. Fletcher would rotate with them, and not to mention of they bring in anyone else for '23. Fletcher could start and be a main RB at many schools in America. That aren't in the running for NCs, same goes for Miyan.


And Henderson is absolutely a 3 down RB, who has size, speed and shiftiness. Not to mention he can. So doesn't at all compare to Fletcher. Henderson can be compared to a bigger Reggie Bush, who had the luxury of having LenDale White. But could've carried the team on his own, same as Henderson, who has the luxury of Williams this year(and Teague last).

Yeah, we may be looking at different tapes then, because Henderson is no way a scatback, Pryor is. If Henderson is a scatback, then Ezekial Elliot is too(and you would have to put JK Dobbins in that category too then). I don't think there's any reason to make Henderson a power RB, that's not his game. His game is speed, he just needs to work on breaking tackles, just like the previous lead RBs needed to early on.
Fletcher is pure power, with not nearly the same amount of speed. And that's fine. His game is what's needed in our rotation, we need a pure power RB. And even more a power RB who can catch.
Our RB room right now doesn't have a power RB, they have 4 more complete RBs and a scatback. Fletcher would be the power, and the other signee for '23 would be complete.

Cryami has now faced the fact that their losing Fletcher, and now think they're pulling a lower tier version of Fletcher from San Diego, CA:

I think they're going to whiff on both of them too, and settle for another lower tier RB, or just settle on 1 lower tier RB

Zeke was , in my opinion, the best combination of scat and power that I can recall here.

Fletcher is faster than you give him credit for in my opinion. Not as fast as Henderson but a helluva lot stronger.

Only one thing about "The Polarizer"(my new name for our new recruit)that I'm calling a lock...his first run from scrimmage whether he's stuffed for no gain or plows through defenders for 7 or 8 yards there will be half of us saying "I told you so".

Probably too early to define what Henderson will be at OSU after a true freshman season and without the benefit of a full year of Coach Mic time. I see Tre becoming a fully rounded back like Dobbins, but that takes some time in the weight room and film room to achieve. Regardless, you take a back like Fletcher in a heartbeat. Ruthless runner that does have an extra gear, not like Tre but hey, who does really? Tre is one of the fastest players we've ever had here. But Fletcher will be a guy that contributes at the very least, but could also become a dominant back if everything falls into place. The staff wants him and so should every fan following his recruitment.

I think a little bit of both. We just may view RBs differently. Henderson is an inch or so taller than JK but weighs the same. Zeke also played at a similar height and weight to those 2 as well. I see a scatback as someone who is used mainly on jet sweeps, and in space. Henderson has the ability to run up the middle, off the tackle and in space. Not a scatback, IMO. None of them really are, IMO.
I think Fletcher is a stud and will be a welcomed addition to the RB room, we just see RBs differently. I see Fletcher as a battering ram that you use to get hard yards, and wear down a defense. Like I said previously, Fletcher is a RB we haven't had since Hyde, and Day saw some of the games this year and the struggles we had moving the ball in short yardage situations. He has some speed, but even from his highlights it's easy to see that he pulls away from no one. And that's fine. I'd(and I'm sure I don't speak alone) be fine if he was inserted to run out the clock on a team and fall forward. Every RB doesn't have to be a HR threat, some can move the chains and still be very successful.

Welcome to the fam Mark! Not much to say about his game that hasn't already been said, glad to have him in the RB room. And can't wait to watch him run over some Skunkweasels
