My Miami buddy right before the SFE visit weekend said the visit would not matter and that Miami was going to get Baxter AND Fletcher in their class...
It's starting to look like that's who OSU's RBs will be in '23
I just re-watched his highlights. I know there’s been a lot of back and forth on a good comparison for Fletcher but I have one that I haven’t seen. LeVeon Bell at MSU. Running style looks identical and he’s similar size. Now, obviously Bell dropped about 30 lbs, got super ripped, and changed up his style a bit in the league. But at MSU, that’s exactly what Fletcher looks like.

Ooh I like that comp too! Especially his catching ability. And another comp I've seen, is former Dayton Dunbar alum and current Utah Ute, Tavion Thomas

Regardless, I think all of us are saying the same thing in different ways. A big RB that can be used as a change of pace, and it helps that he can also be utilized in the passing game.

I dont see either of those comparisons. Both of those guys are 3 down program changing RBs. Fletcher is a rotational RB at a big time CFB program, imo.
I agree that I don’t see those comparisons, but there are plenty of “big time programs” that Fletcher would likely be a 3 down, program changing RB. For example, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Penn State, etc…are all programs that Fletcher would be their Beanie or Byars. Similar to Miyan Williams. He would start for 95%+ of the programs in America.

his height, weight, power style, and use as a between the tackles and around the end type of runner is where I compare him similarly to Byars and Beanie. He appears to be bigger than the linebackers trying to tackle him and faster than the defensive backs trying to catch him. Those are the 2 key attributes that always come to mind when I think of Byars and Beanie.

he may or may not be a 3 down back at OSU. But if you say that about him then you should say it about Henderson.

and the comparison to Miyan Williams - I don’t see that one from a physical stature perspective.

Fletcher wouldn't be a primary RB at any of those schools. OU and Ped St brought in 2 nationally ranked RBs in '22, and ND got 1. Fletcher would rotate with them, and not to mention of they bring in anyone else for '23. Fletcher could start and be a main RB at many schools in America. That aren't in the running for NCs, same goes for Miyan.

And Henderson is absolutely a 3 down RB, who has size, speed and shiftiness. Not to mention he can. So doesn't at all compare to Fletcher. Henderson can be compared to a bigger Reggie Bush, who had the luxury of having LenDale White. But could've carried the team on his own, same as Henderson, who has the luxury of Williams this year(and Teague last).

You are SEVERELY underselling how talented and elite Byars and Beanie were
