look around the landscape of CBB and who will be coming back next year. the field is going to be really wide open.
Fair enough.
The championship is won with elite players. There are some elite recruits coming in. Do we have those elite players on our squad next year? That's my challenge.
I love Aaron Craft and wouldn't trade him for another G in the NCAA, and he can neutralize another teams elite G. So I think we win there.
Lenzelle is a solid college ball player, has shown flashes of offense and is nice defensively.
Thomas can score and in bunches, but is a liability at the other end. If he comes back.
We've heard Ross is a great offensive player and we've seen that his defense is at best on par with Thomas. To me he is the wild card here. If he is as good as the hype, he could be that elite player and he will have a year in the system. I am cautious with my expectations of Ross as he sat all year on a team that could have used another scorer.
Scott and Thompson, should they add a semblance of an offensive threat other than inbounds alley oop, will be a great addition to the team.
To me our strength will be depth. But with Thomas and Ross on the floor together, we need Williams to become the eraser that makes up for deficiencies. Based on the rotation we saw this year, I'm not convinced Scott or Thompson wouldn't start and Ross comes off the bench. But this team will have an entirely new dynamic (no Buford or Sullinger) so maybe Thad changes the rotation.
Edit: this doesn't belong in Alex's thread. Sorry but this was a lot of typing on an iPad to just erase
