Rivals

Confirms what Cavsfan said about visiting Tuesday...Also his short list includes Michigan, MSU, tOSU, and Indiana.

Of that group I believe we are the only ones that havent offered...We shall see if that changes Tuesday...

Just got wind that Michigan and MSU fans are worried about us now...As it was thought that he was a huge Michigan lean, then MSU got in the door, and now they are both worried about us in this race...

As a spartan fan this makes me feel good in a way that osu can come in late and get his attention. He has been a spartan fan since he was a kid and commited to years ago. The thing was Izzo had not even offered him yet. So people were saying the lack of love shown by Michigan State may have hurt there chances. I guess if he's giving osu a look that wont be a reason why he wont choose state. Matta is known as a closer and thats what makes me get the feeling he will commit to you guys on the visit.

MSU has offered him, but they haven't been actively pursuing him.

Green will be visiting the OSU campus on the 26th. Green is down to Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Indiana. Green indicates he may have a decision soon after his visit to Ohio State.

My take on the article: It may be an uphill battle to get him away from the two in-state schools.

Green To Announce Decision * FREE STORY

Draymond Green has set a press conference to announce his college decision from SaginawHigh School on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
Draymond-Green-mug.JPG

Green, a 6-6 power forward, has narrowed his choices to Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State and OhioState.

Green, PrepSpotlight.com?s No. 1 player in Michigan?s Class of 2008, has had a solid spring playing on the AAU circuit with The Family, which has made several deep tournament runs.

He?s had also been busy working out and playing with his high school team, defending Class A state champions Saginaw High, before spraining his ankle 10 days ago participating in the Izzo Shootout.

Most recently the Ohio State Buckeyes, who are back on the market for a power forward after losing Top 50 prospect 6-8 forward Luke Babbitt three weeks ago, have surprised by joining the fray to make a late push for Green?s services. In fact, Green will take an unofficial visit to Columbus sometime Monday or Tuesday before making his final decision.

It is very interesting that a prospect would announce a press conference and list his finalists prior to visiting all of them, but such is the case with Green. And with Thad Matta, one of the nation?s best recruiters, things will be very interesting.

Green was named to PrepSpotlight.com?s Dream Team this past season averaging 25 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals while leading the Trojans to a 26-1 record.

Green told PrepSpotlight.com a month ago he also holds scholarship offers from Minnesota, Kentucky, DePaul, Illinois, Clemson, Bradley, BostonCollegeand Miami (Fla.).

PrepSpotlight.com will continue to update this story and have Green?s final decision on Thursday afternoon.

Yes he does.

The thing is though a few years ago he wanted to commit to MSU but Izzo held him off and said they were still evaluating him. Then he commited to Kentucky because they were the first high major to offer. Then tubby left to minnesota. So Green opened up his recruiting. Bealine put on the full court press and I and other spartan fans assumed he was going to commit to UM because even though Izzo recently offered he was not going after Green full blast.

The thing MSU has going for it is MSU is his a childhood favorite and he grew up a spartan fan. Izzo has just recently started going after him full blast. I thought Michigan was going to be his destination a few weeks ago then i thought maybe michigan state but now with OSU in it I have no idea. I would rank the in state schools probably 1 & 2 still but with Mattas Repuatation it would not shock me if he choose OSU.

Green is closer to 6'5 then anything and he is not a banger. He has a Good IQ and has good ball skills. He can step out and hit the three. He needs to get in better shape but it college with trainers and stuff that will happen. He in most spartan fans opinion will be a solid role player. IU believes he would be that and he would be that for osu as well imo. 08 is a down year for high school basketball in michigan. With Noopy really dropping it has become really a down year in 08.

Michigan fans as some of you know believe he will most likely be a savior and he will be all conference. :wink2:

hopefully thad can pull off some of his recruiting magic tomorrow because it would be nice to add him to this class.
2008 isn't a great year for recruiting in michigan but draymond is the best in that state, according to prepspotlight.com.
if we are able to get him to go along with crater, we will have taken michigans 2 best players. just a little payback for all they have taken from us :)

He's also the best in the state according to rivals and will probably be the best according to RSCI. I Respect Dave Telep a lot from scout and he still has Noppy ahead of Green. Noopy will be great for what OSU needs. Yes he will need to work really hard on his shot so he can keep defenders honest but he is such a great passer that Diebler will be drooling along with Buford and etc.

Announcing on Thursday but taking a last second look at Ohio State on Tuesday......hmmmm....does that mean he is sincerely looking at Ohio State or just making sure he has already made the right decision?

Matta is good but we are getting in awful late with this kid......
